Authenticity determination device and method for security medium including reflective volume hologram, and security medium including reflective volume hologram

To provide an authentication device and method for a security medium including a reflective volume hologram having a light source disposed on the front surface side of the reflective volume hologram so that light emitted therefrom is incident on the reflective volume hologram, a first observation device disposed in a pre-designed diffraction direction of the reflective volume hologram, and a second observation device disposed in a direction other than the pre-designed diffraction direction of the reflective volume hologram. Light including a pre-designed diffraction wavelength is emitted from the light source to be incident on the reflective volume hologram, and when the light amount observed in the first observation device is larger in the diffraction wavelength than in other wavelengths, and the light amount observed in the second observation device is smaller in the diffraction wavelength than in other wavelengths, it is determined that the reflective volume hologram is genuine.

A holographic interferometer, comprising: at least one imaging device capturing an interference pattern created by at least two light beams; and at least one aperture located in an optical path of at least one light beam of the at least two light beams; wherein the at least one aperture is located away from an axis of the at least one light beam, thus transmitting a subset of the at least one light beam collected at an angle range.

DEVICE FOR OBSERVING A SAMPLE AND METHOD FOR OBSERVING A SAMPLE

There is provided a device allowing a sample to be observed in a first mode, by lensless imaging using a first sensor. The first mode allows a first image to be obtained, on the basis of which a region of interest of the sample may be identified. The device then allows, via a relative movement, the region of interest to be analyzed using a more precise second mode and in particular using an optical system coupled to a second sensor.

Method and system for three dimensional digital holographic aperture synthesis

Laser 3D imaging techniques include splitting a laser temporally-modulated waveform of bandwidth B and duration D from a laser source into a reference beam and a target beam and directing the target beam onto a target. First data is collected, which indicates amplitude and phase of light relative to the reference beam received at each of a plurality of different times during a duration D at each optical detector of an array of one or more optical detectors perpendicular to the target beam. Steps are repeated for multiple sampling conditions, and the first data for the multiple sampling conditions are synthesized to form one or more synthesized sets. A 3D Fourier transform of each synthesized set forms a digital model of the target for each synthesized set with a down-range resolution based on the bandwidth B.

According to one embodiment, a beam splitter splits light into first light and second light. The second light is used to irradiate a sample containing particles. A first imaging device images a first interference pattern formed by multiplexing third light, which has been generated by irradiating the particles with the second light, and the first light. A second imaging device images a second interference pattern formed by the third light. An arithmetic device compares a composite image with a calculated image. The composite image is created by using a first interference image picked up by the first imaging device and a second interference image picked up by the second imaging device. The calculated image is obtained by combining single particle interference images, each of which is expected to be obtained by the first imaging device in a case where a particle is present alone in the sample.
