A marking apparatus and its method of use facilitate blind slide-mounting of an object to a mounting surface in a desired alignment using the object as an alignment template. The apparatus includes a post element, a retention element, a tightening element and a cover. The retention element is movable against resilient bias to allow the apparatus to capture a mounting slot in the object. The resilient bias moves the retention element to a gripping position, and the cover can be rotated so as to cause the tightening element to secure the grip of the apparatus to the object. When the object is aligned with and pushed toward the mounting surface, the cover moves against an elastic bias to allow a marking end of the apparatus to contact the mounting surface so as mark the appropriate location for installation of a fastener to supportingly engage the slide-mount slot of the object.

Devices, systems and methods for hanging one or more objects, such as frames, on a surface. A marking device for marking a surface for hanging one or more objects. The marking device can have a main body portion having first and second arms pivotably attached thereto. The first and second arms, as well as the main body, can each have a marker to mark a target surface. The marking device can optionally have a level indicator and the first and second arms can have markers which can slide along a ruled measure for convenient positioning of marks on the target surface. Optionally, the markers can have biased, retractable, or sheathed marker pins.

When affixed to the object, the apparatus is used to mark the appropriate location for installation of a fastener to supportingly engage the slide-mount slot of the object. The apparatus may include an orthogonality adapter to ensure that it remains orthogonal to the object during certain marking operations.

The marking device can have a main body portion having first and second arms pivotably attached thereto. The first and second arms, as well as the main body, can each have a marker to mark a target surface. The present disclosure relates to a system (100) for framing and displaying photographs comprising at least one frame backing (10) for receiving at least one photograph; at least one fastening mechanism (18) comprising at least one couple fastener (18) for affixing the frame backing (10) to the mounting surface (12); at least one marking tool (20) adapted to create at least one marking on the mounting surface (12); and at least one frame bracket (22) adapted to reversibly plug into the side walls of said frame backing (10), wherein the number of apertures and the number of receptacles on the frame backing exactly match the number of couple fasteners. The system further comprises at least one positioning tool (24) and at least one sticky marker (26).

A device for marking the position of surface hanging fasteners is disclosed. An example device may include a piece of material with an adhesive side that is capable of adhering to, or adhering adjacent to or in the expected position of, a piece of attachment hardware of a surface hanging such as a picture frame. The example device may also include a marking side that includes a marking material capable of leaving a mark on a surface against which it is pressed, such that when the surface hanging is held against the surface in the desired position and orientation, a mark is created on the surface in the position of the desired fastener.

An adjustable hanger assembly is provided that includes a slider base and a slider that can be adjusted vertically within the slider base and held in a vertical position by an engagement with the slider base. A spring provided in the slider base enables the slider to be maintained in a normally engaged, locked position. By pushing the slider in, toward to the slider base, for example, with a finger or thumb, the slider can be disengaged from the slider base and moved up or down. The assembly can also include a mounting bracket for fixedly securing the assembly to a wall. The mounting bracket can engage the slider base and can be configured to enable the slider base to be adjusted horizontally with respect to the mounting bracket. The hanger assembly can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally after being fixedly secured to a wall.

Embodiments disclosed herein describe systems and methods for a hanging device including slides configured to align the hanging device at desired positions with the frame and on a wall. Embodiments may be configured to be aligned with a frame in both horizontal and vertical directions.
