A training simulation system and method for detection of hazardous materials simulates real-world hazardous environments to provide a trainee with hazardous material training. The system provides a hazardous material detection simulator that displays simulated readings to indicate presence thereof. The detection simulator automatically generates the simulated readings, based on its relative position to the hazard point, and based on preprogrammed hazard points in the area. A host trainer, through a trainer communication device, remotely generates and adjusts the simulated readings while tracking vehicle's position. A vehicle integrally contains the hazardous material detection simulator. A trainee controls the vehicle while also observing and reacting to the simulated readings. Once the hazard point is determined, based on simulated readings, the trainee can form a decision on the readings and react accordingly. The simulated readings can be adjusted based on the reaction of the trainee and position of vehicle relative to hazard point.

A notification system includes at least one memory in which a program is stored and at least one processor combined with the at least one memory. The at least one processor is configured to execute, by executing the program, an acquisition process of acquiring at least one physical quantity from among acceleration, lateral acceleration, jerk, and vibration amplitude of a truck bed, and a notification process of sending a notification to a remote driving operator in response to a fact that the physical quantity exceeds a first threshold value set for each type of physical quantity.

In one embodiment, a remote controller for a vehicle includes at least one control element for controlling operation of at least one aspect of the vehicle when the vehicle is in a remote-control mode; an actuator connected the at least one control element for controlling a position of the at least one control element when the vehicle is in an autonomous operations mode; and a processing system for receiving a first control signal from the vehicle indicative of a state of operation of the vehicle. In operation, the processing system generates a second control signal to the actuator to cause the actuator to control a position of the control element such that it corresponds to and indicates the state of operation of the vehicle.

Acoustic monitoring system

A monitored space is monitored including the production of a first audio signal from received acoustic energy. The first audio signal is then processed against a whitelist of acoustic profiles and, based on lack of substantial correspondence with any of the acoustic profiles, a drone is navigated toward an apparent position of an apparent source. While in-flight, additional acoustic energy is received and a second audio signal is produced from the additional acoustic energy. The second audio signal is processed against the whitelist and, based on lack of substantial correspondence with any of the acoustic profiles of the whitelist, an investigate mode of the drone is initiated. The investigate mode includes notifying a remote monitor and supplying the remote monitor with an audiovisual feed. Responsive to a characterization by the remote monitor, an entry of the whitelist may be updated, added or replaced.
