An automated storage and retrieval system includes a grid-based rail structure and a plurality of remotely operated vehicles arranged to operate on the grid-based rail structure. The automated storage and retrieval system includes a locking device arranged in a zone of the grid-based rail structure where a human and/or a robotic operator is permitted to interact with the remotely operated vehicle or contents of a storage container that the remotely operated vehicle is carrying. The locking device is arranged to lock the remotely operated vehicle against accidental displacement prior to interaction with the human and/or robotic operator, and wherein the locking device being arranged to unlock the remotely operated vehicle once interaction with the human and/or robotic operator is no longer required.
Vehicle systems and methods
A vehicle system includes a chassis, a plurality of wheels coupled to the chassis and supporting the chassis for rolling on a surface, and a riding platform coupled to the chassis. The riding platform is for supporting a user behind the chassis when the riding platform is in a downward pivoted state. A linkage connects the riding platform to the chassis for selective pivotal motion relative to the chassis between an upward pivoted state in which the riding platform is pivoted into a position to allow a user to walk behind the chassis and a downward pivoted state in which the user may ride or step on the platform.
Cargo transport system and automated guided vehicle
There is provided a cargo transport system including: a management device; and a plurality of automated guided vehicles. Each of the automated guided vehicles includes: a movement instruction receiving unit that receives, from the management device, a movement instruction for moving to at least one loading operation place where a loading operation of loading a cargo to be transported into the automated guided vehicle is performed or a specified position near the loading operation place; an information transmitting unit that transmits, to the management device, load information concerning a load state of the cargo loaded into the automated guided vehicle; and a traveling unit that performs automated traveling in accordance with the received movement instruction. The management device includes: a movement instruction management unit that transmits the movement instruction to each of the automated guided vehicles; a load information receiving unit; and a load amount management unit.
Evaluation framework for predicted trajectories in autonomous driving vehicle traffic prediction
According to one embodiment, when a predicted trajectory is received, a set of one or more features are extracted from at least some of the trajectory points of the predicted trajectory. The predicted trajectory is predicted using a prediction method or algorithm based on perception data perceiving an object within a driving environment surrounding an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV). The extracted features are fed into a predetermined DNN model to generate a similarity score. The similarity score represents a difference or similarity between the predicted trajectory and a prior actual trajectory that was used to train the DNN model. The similarity score can be utilized to evaluate the prediction method that predicted the predicted trajectory.
Autonomous delivery vehicle
Postal, package, and grocery deliveries are performed routinely everywhere around the world. Currently, the delivery truck drives slowly, and the postman or delivery man goes from one house to another. The postman already has a box that he carries with the sorted letters for a few of the contiguous houses, stops the truck, and walks to the different houses in the bunch, and then moves the truck and goes to the next bunch of houses. In this invention, the package delivery truck will automatically follow the mailman while still staying close to the curb to minimize traffic issues. Here, the autonomous package or delivery truck could actually go in front of the mailman to look for a good spot for the next cluster, or can wait for the mailman that is close to the last house of the current cluster, pick him up, and drop off at the center of the next cluster, or at the first house of the next cluster. In addition, there are robots that replace the function of the human (mailman or grocery delivery man).

Systems And Methods For Optimizing Kit Assembly In A Fulfillment Center
Systems and methods for managing kit orders in a fulfillment center are described herein. The example systems can be configured to receive a determination that a kit pick job is needed to pre-assemble a kit, wherein the kit comprises a first item and a second item. The determination can be based on a number of orders for the kit, a kit pre-assembly time, and a kit on-demand assembly time. The determination also can be based on historical order data for the kit and a predicted number of orders for the kit. The kit pick job is created, wherein the kit pick job is associated with at least one of a plurality of the first item and a plurality of the second item, and the kit pick job is transmitted to an autonomous vehicle for completion.
Monitoring the operation of a work machine
A surveying device is operated to measure a surface profile of a terrain of a worksite and generate surface profile data indicative of the surface profile. A work machine is operated to move along a route over the terrain in accordance with an operating parameter and generates machine operational data indicative of the operating parameter. A navigation system determines the route and generates route data. A processing unit processes the route data, machine operational data and surface profile data to generate monitored operating condition data indicative of a monitored operating condition of the machine.

An air conditioning control device includes: a passenger determination unit that determines whether a passenger is in a self-driving vehicle; a travel determination unit that determines a traveling state of the self-driving vehicle; and a light blocking control unit that executes a light blocking air conditioning control for a vehicle cabin by operating a light blocking device to adjust solar radiation into the vehicle cabin from a window of the self-driving vehicle when the passenger determination unit and the travel determination unit determine that the self-driving vehicle is in an unmanned traveling condition.
