Device self-calibration and component resolution
Events generated from a terminal are analyzed and a problem associated with a component peripheral of the terminal is identified. Operations and parameters to the operation are obtained to resolve the problem. The operations and parameters are encoded in a code along with security information. The code is provided to a mobile device. The mobile device provides the code back to the terminal. The terminal verifies the security information from the code and decodes the operations and parameters. The operations with the parameters are processed to resolve the problem on the terminal, and the security information and code are logged for auditing.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UPDATING HOST OPERATING SYSTEM DRIVERS FROM A MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER
An information handling system includes a basic input/output system (BIOS) that performs a firmware boot operation. During the firmware boot operation, the BIOS determines whether a driver pack management controller setting is enabled within a baseboard management controller of the information handling system. In response to the driver pack management controller setting being enabled, the BIOS copies a binary utility from the baseboard management controller to a system memory, and creates an operating system specific platform binary table to point to the binary utility on the baseboard management controller. In response to the operating system being initialized, a processor invokes the binary utility, mounts a memory partition of the baseboard management controller as a virtual drive of the operating system, and executes the operating system specific binary stage under a fixed globally unique identifier to install a driver pack.
FAILOVER AND LIVE MIGRATION OF ZERO/THIN CLIENTS
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a control device. The control device determines that a first thin client is in a remote session with a remote machine and is in wireless connection with one or more peripherals. The control device detects that the first thin client is in a predetermined status. The control device requests a second thin client to resume the remote session of the remote machine. The control device connects the one or more peripherals with the second thin client wirelessly.
I/O co-processor coupled hybrid computing device
An apparatus and method provide power to perform functions on a computing device. In one example, the apparatus contains multiple processors that may operate at different power levels to consume different amounts of power. Also, any of the multiple processors may perform different functions. For example, one processor may be a low power processor that may control or operate at least one peripheral device to perform a low capacity function. Control may also switch from the low power processor to a high capacity processor. In one example, the high capacity processor controls the low power processor and further controls the at least one peripheral device through the lower power processor.
Adaptive voltage converter
An adaptive voltage converter adapted to compensate for the exponential sensitivities of sub-threshold and near-threshold circuits. The converter can change its power/performance characteristics between different energy modes. The converter may comprise two or more voltage converters/regulators. A multiplexing circuit selects between the outputs of the several converters/regulators depending on the state of a control signal generated by a control facility. The converter is specially adapted to change the output of each converter/regulator based on a number of variables, including, for example, process corner, temperature and input voltage.
Discovering new backup clients
A system for discovering new backup clients is disclosed. The system comprises an input interface and a processor. The input interface is configured to receive a notice from a backup client. The processor is configured to provide an indication of the notice and select a configuration mode from a set of available configuration modes.
PDA TERMINAL AND OPERATION CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
A PDA terminal is provided. The PDA terminal includes: a main body; a processor disposed in the main body; a memory accessible by the processor; and a display unit disposed on a front surface of the main body to display information processed by the processor. A rear cover detachable from the main body is disposed on a rear surface of the main body. After the rear cover is removed, a gun handle is usable in a state of being connected to a coupling part formed under the rear cover. Since the gun handle with a switch is usable in a state of being connected to the main body of the PDA terminal, the operation of the PDA operation can be more conveniently used in an industrial site or the like.
ADAPTIVE PERIPHERAL COMPONENT INTERCONNECT EXPRESS LINK SUBSTATE INITIATION FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE AND POWER SAVINGS
Systems, methods, and apparatus for adaptively modifying latency times governing entry of a PCIe interface into low power states are described. A method performed by a controller of a PCIe interface includes determining that a burst of data is being transmitted on a PCIe link, configuring a timer to signal when an entry latency period has elapsed after determining that a PCIe link has entered an idle state, causing one or more circuits of the PCIe interface to enter a low-power state when the timer signals that the entry latency period has elapsed before the PCIe link becomes active, and increasing the entry latency period when a number of entries of the PCIe interface to the low-power state that occurs during transmission of the burst of data exceeds a threshold maximum number.
COMMUNICATIONS BUS LINE ISOLATOR
A communications bus line isolator is provided. In some embodiments, a first side of the communications bus isolator can be coupled to a first device via first communications bus cabling, a second side of the communications bus isolator can be coupled to a second device via second communications bus cabling, and, when the communications bus isolator detects a fault on or tampering or interference with the second communications bus cabling or the second device, the communications bus isolator can isolate the first communications bus cabling from the second communications bus cabling. In some embodiments, when the first device detects a continuous fault on or continuous tampering or interference with the second communications bus cabling or the second device, the first device can transmit a signal to the communications bus isolator, instructing the communications bus isolator to actively disable receivers on the second side of the communications bus isolator.
CUSTOM KIOSK
A system for customizing a kiosk comprises a motherboard and first and second Raspberry Pi type compute modules on the mother board for customizing the mother board. The first compute module performs front end processing for displaying an output to a peripheral device. The second compute module performs back end processing.
