Providing haptic feedback through touch-sensitive input devices

A method for providing haptic feedback. Haptic feedback may be provided to a user through a touch-sensitive input device configured to provide input to a touch-sensitive computing device. The method includes determining a haptic perception factor based at least in part on one or more of a set of input device inputs received from sensors of the touch-sensitive input device and a set of computing device inputs received from sensors of the touch-sensitive computing device. A haptic response profile is determined based at least in part on the haptic perception factor. Haptic devices of the touch-sensitive input device are then actuated based at least in part on the determined haptic response profile.

A device to enable touchless operation of an instrument is disclosed. The device includes an actuator configured to vibrate the instrument, a controller configured to control the actuator, and an interval detector configured to detect an interval between the instrument and an object to operate the instrument. The controller is configured to start vibrating the actuator having been still after the interval detected by the interval detector reaches a first threshold, keep vibrating the actuator until the interval detected by the interval detector reaches a second threshold larger than the first threshold after the interval reaches the first threshold, and stop vibrating the actuator after the interval detected by the interval detector reaches the second threshold.

INPUT DEVICE AND USER INTERFACE INTERACTIONS

In some embodiments, a device displays functionality information in response to receiving an indication of a first input for which a contact meets functionality display criteria. In some embodiments, a device generates a user interface that includes a navigation bar including images from different positions in a respective content item, and a representation of an adjacent content item. In some embodiments, a device moves a selection-indicator in a user interface by a predefined amount in response to receiving an indication of a first input that meets unitary movement criteria. In some embodiments, a device interprets movement of a contact of an input based at least in part on a grip of a user. In some embodiments, a device displays a plurality of character selection options when a text entry field is not tolerant of character ambiguity and a first input corresponds to a plurality of candidate characters.

Display device including force sensor and vibration generator

A display device includes a display panel, a first force sensor, a first vibration generator, and a first electromagnetic wave shielding member. The first force sensor is disposed under the display panel. The first vibration generator is disposed under the display panel and adjacent to the first force sensor. The first electromagnetic wave shielding member surrounds side surfaces of the first vibration generator.

Systems for Modifying Finger Sensations During Finger Press Input Events

A user may provide finger press input to a surface such as a touch sensitive input surface. The input surface may be formed from a two-dimensional touch sensor overlapping a display of an electronic device. The electronic device and an associated device such as a finger-mounted device may form a system for gathering the finger press input from the user. A sensor may be used in monitoring when the finger-mounted device and a user's finger in the device approach the input surface of the electronic device. In response to detection of the finger near the input surface, actuators in the finger-mounted device may squeeze the finger inwardly to cause a finger pad on the finger to protrude outwardly towards the input surface, thereby softening impact between the finger and the input surface. The electronic device may also have an array of components to repel the finger-mounted device.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND PROGRAM

To provide a vehicle-mounted device wherein a touch operation on a screen can be achieved easily. Each time a touch operation by a user moves between a division, of a plurality of divisions, a controlling portion of a vehicle-mounted device instructs a vibrating portion so as to output a first vibration, and while a touch operation by a user in any of the divisions, of the plurality of divisions, is detected, the controlling portion instructs the vibrating portion so as to output a second vibration, which is different from the first vibration, at prescribed time intervals.

METHOD FOR GENERATING FORCE FEEDBACK OF REMOTE SURGICAL DEVICE

The present invention is a method for controlling a Davinci surgical device. Firstly, controlling an operation part of a remote operation device to enter the inner of a body for executing a surgical operation. Then, an image capturing unit captures a plurality of corresponding surgical images to a control device, and the control device obtains a first torque component, a second torque component and an element action of the remote surgical device according to the surgical images to operate an output strength of the remote surgical device for further generating corresponding strength feedback by the output strength. Thus, the user can get the control status of the remote surgical device to prevent accidental iatrogenic injury from over-force and to proceed with the operation with improved accuracy.

A vehicle display control device including a housing that constitutes a body and is fixed to an instrument panel, an LCD cover whose outer circumference surface is disposed to be spaced apart from an inner circumference surface of the housing and that is accommodated in the housing, an LCD module that is accommodated in the LCD cover and covered by the LCD cover, a haptic actuator that is mounted on a rear of the LCD cover and transfers vibration to the LCD cover, and a support member that is disposed between the LCD cover and the housing.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND PROGRAM

An electronic device includes a storage unit storing adjustment information whereby the amount of change in a predetermined direction, when an adjustment portion was moved to adjust a setting for a predetermined system by the user performing a touch operation, has been associated with an amount of adjustment for adjusting the setting for the predetermined system. A control unit determines whether or not the user's touch operation has passed through a region in a predetermined amount of time, and calculates the amount of change in the predetermined direction based on the touch operation when it has been determined that the touch operation has passed through the region within the predetermined amount of time, determines the amount of adjustment corresponding to the calculated amount of change based on the adjustment information, and issues an instruction to the predetermined system to set a setting value based on the determined amount of adjustment.
