PARTICIPANT-SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS WHILE INTERACTING WITH A SHARED SURFACE

A collaboration system that facilitates a collaboration session with a first participant and a second participant is provided. The collaboration system varies a response to input based on the participant who provides the input. The collaboration system may receive input data from a participant interacting with a shared surface. When the input data is received from the first participant, the collaboration system generates first output data that may be a modification of the first input data that is based at least on first customization information associated with the first participant and displays the first output data. When the input data is received from the second participant, the collaboration system generates second output data that may be a modification of the second input data that is based at least on second customization information associated with the second participant and displays the second output data.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING AND SELECTIVELY OUTPUTTING TWO TYPES OF INK VECTOR DATA
20170236020 · 2017-08-17 ·

A computer-implemented method is provided to selectively output two types of vector data representative of user-input strokes. Type one stroke objects are generated in a device including a position input sensor, on which a user operates a pointer to generate a type one stroke object representative of a stroke. A stroke starts at a pen-down time at which the pointer is placed on the position input sensor and ends at a pen-up time at which the pointer is removed from the position input sensor. Real-time rendering of a type one stroke object is started after the pen-down time of a stroke without waiting for the pen-up time. After completion of a type one stroke object through its pen-up time, the type one stroke object is converted to a type two stroke object, which is a set of curves defining a boundary of the stroke, and can be rendered.

Handwriting entry on an electronic device

In some embodiments, an electronic device receives handwritten inputs in text entry fields and converts the handwritten inputs into font-based text. In some embodiments, an electronic device selects and deletes text based on inputs from a stylus. In some embodiments, an electronic device inserts text into pre-existing text based on inputs from a stylus. In some embodiments, an electronic device manages the timing of converting handwritten inputs into font-based text. In some embodiments, an electronic device presents a handwritten entry menu. In some embodiments, an electronic device controls the characteristic of handwritten inputs based on selections on the handwritten entry menu. In some embodiments, an electronic device presents autocomplete suggestions. In some embodiments, an electronic device converts handwritten input to font-based text. In some embodiments, an electronic device displays options in a content entry palette.

FEATURES OFA DATA ENTRY SYSTEM

A data entry system, having an input interface adapted to identify a plurality of user interactions. The system includes a processor adapted to associate user interactions identified by the input interface with a plurality of letters of the alphabet, such that all the letters of the alphabet are assigned to at most eight user interactions. Most of the letters are assigned to specific user interactions according to one or more features of their shape in their printed form, such that most of the letters assigned to each user interaction have the same shape feature.

Digital Cursor Display Linked to a Smart Pen

A system and a method are disclosed for calibrating writing on a writing surface to a digital document. One or more calibration parameters associated with a writing surface and a digital document of a display device are determined. The calibration parameters indicate a spatial offset between a reference position on the writing surface and a reference position in the digital document. A gesture captured by a smart pen is received. The gesture includes a sequence of spatial positions representing movement of the smart pen with respect to the writing surface. The sequence of spatial positions is mapped to a sequence of spatial positions in the digital document based on the calibration parameters.

Mobile terminal device and input device

A mobile terminal device includes a display section having a display screen, an input section having a touch input region on the display screen, and a control section for displaying a plurality of keys. The display screen is provided as a software keyboard where a touch operation on a specific key causes an input of the specific key. In the specific display region on the display screen that can display operation keys on the software keyboard, the control section selects these keys from a previously prepared set of input candidate key groups. In response to a specific operation on the specific display region, the control section allows the plurality of keys to be displayed on the specific display region. In response to touch on a desired key in the specific display region, the control section determines that an input of the key has been performed.

Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and computer program product for displaying different items to be processed according to different areas on a display in a locked state

An information processing apparatus includes a detection unit configured to detect a position of a manipulation body on a display screen and a control unit configured to, if a first manipulation on the display screen in a locked state is detected, display, on the display screen, icons to be arranged based on a reference point indicating a position of the manipulation body when the first manipulation is completed, and if a second manipulation indicating a direction from the reference point is detected, start up an application corresponding to the icon specified by the second manipulation. An associated method and computer readable storage medium are also described.

Electronic device having touchscreen and input processing method thereof

A method and an apparatus are provided for performing a function corresponding to a recognized user input through a touch screen. The method includes displaying a window of an application; displaying a setting menu of the application; receiving a selection for at least one item in the setting menu; recognizing an input object that performed the selection; registering the input object as an object for executing a function corresponding to the at least one item selected by the input object; detecting an input by the input object in the application window; and executing the function in response to the input by the input object.

MOBILE DEVICE COMPRISING STYLUS PEN AND OPERATION METHOD THEREFOR

Disclosed are a mobile device and a method of operating the mobile device. A mobile device according to an embodiment includes a sensing unit configured to determine whether a stylus pen is separated from the mobile device, a communication unit configured to receive a control signal from the stylus pen separated from the mobile device, and a controller configured to operate in a first control mode for performing at least one operation of an application being executed on the mobile device, in response to the control signal.
