Method and system for optimized positioning of items in at least one box
A method for positioning items in a box includes providing a list of items, a list of boxes, dimensional data for each item, position-restricting data for each item, a system for assembling the boxes, a system for placing each item into a main box, a control unit connected having an algorithm for selecting the box and how the items are introduced into the box; and applying the algorithm to select a main box having a minimum size sufficient to contain the items and minimize empty space, and to determine order of introduction, position and rotation of the items; and applying the algorithm to the placing system. Applying the algorithm includes calculating the contact surface areas of each item to maintain the contact surface area above a minimum threshold, thereby ensuring stable positioning and reducing the volume of the filler. A system for positioning items in a box.
OPTIMIZATION OF A QUADRATIC ASSIGNMENT PROBLEM ON A LATTICE
A process for computing the optimal solution to the quadratic assignment problem (QAP) defined on lattices includes storing facility data as facilities in a facility grid with facility tiles. Location data are stored as locations in a location grid with location tiles. Each facility tile is associated with a location tile and each facility in each facility tile is associated with a location in an associated location tile. A flow function is identified as distances between the plurality of facilities in the facility grid, and a distance function is identified as distances between the plurality of locations in the location grid. An association function relating the facilities to the locations is identified such that a solution with a low-cost function depending on the flow function and the distance function is found.
STORAGE MEDIUM, WORK PLAN SPECIFYING METHOD, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE
A storage medium storing a work plan specifying program that causes a computer to execute a process that includes specifying a certain order under conditions that, in a work line that generates a plurality of objects in the certain order, a certain amount of a material is partially cut from a raw material for each of the plurality of objects, the cut material is processed, the raw material is switched to a next raw material when the raw material lacks, and a changeover is performed to change the settings of the cutting device and the proceeding; and optimizing an objective function that reflects the changeover and an excess amount of each raw material that are determined according to an input order of the plurality of objects to the work line.
CONTROL PLAN FOR PAPER, SHEET, AND BOX MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
Systems for providing efficient manufacturing of paper, sheet, and/or box products of varying size and structure, often with pre-applied print (“pre-print”), are provided herein. One or more controllers can be used to aggregate orders and information to prepare one or more control plans (e.g., reel maps, reel plans, etc.) for processing a roll of web product through the manufacturing process. The control plan may include a set of instructions for operating one or more systems within the manufacturing process to form the desired finished paper-based product. In such a regard, efficient manufacturing of various paper-based products, including corrugated boxes, folded carton, labels, flexible paper, industrial bags, plates, cups, décor, and many others, can be achieved. Further, efficient customer ordering/tracking, job aggregation, print imposition, corrugator planning, and tracking and adjustments throughout the manufacturing process are contemplated.
PACKING METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DEFECTIVE SHEET BASED ON BRANCH-AND-CUT ALGORITHM
A packing method for a defective sheet based on branch-and-cut algorithm, including: acquiring sheet information, where the sheet information includes size information of the defect sheet, size information of a target block and position information of a defect; based on actual cutting requirements, establishing constraints; and establishing a primal problem model according to the constraints; converting the primal problem model into a relaxed problem model; checking and verifying the obtained solution by x-check method to determine whether the obtained solution meets the constraints of the primal problem model; outputting the optimal solution to obtain an optimal cutting plan that meets the actual cutting requirements; and cutting the defective sheet according to the optimal cutting plan. A system for implement the packing method is also provided.
Systems and methods for minimizing a total number of cuts to separate media instances imaged onto a media sheet
A system and method utilizes strategies, priority rules, specifications, and comparisons to calculate the fewest number of cuts to separate individual instances from an imaged media sheet. Embodiments of the systems and methods may produce an optimal or more efficient arrangement of the media instances on an imaged media to minimize a total number of cuts to separate the instances, and thus reduce an overall cost.
Method for Providing Digital Content
A method of delivering digital content for use on an electronic cutting machine. The method includes displaying at least one themed project in a rich internet application, where the themed project has at least one glyph of a glyph collection. The method further includes providing access to the rich internet application over a network and offering purchased access to the glyph collection. Any glyphs of the glyph collection can be added to the themed project. The themed project is cuttable on an electronic cutting machine in communication with the rich internet application.
AUTO VALET PARKING SYSTEM AND METHOD
An auto valet parking system operates a car in a parking lot and including: a parking lot map database which manages route information to each parking space; a vacant space information database which manages full and vacant information for each parking space; a facility migration information database which accumulates facility migration information indicative of behaviors of a parking lot user; a first unit which detects the full and vacant information for each parking space, searches for a route to the parking space and automatically parks the car in the parking space based on the route information; a second unit notifies the parking lot user of information on a parking position through a mobile terminal; and a third unit which searches for the vacant space as close as possible to conditions based on the facility migration information, and reflects the vacant space on the first unit.
Method and system for reserving and controlling access to products and services at a remote location via a communications network
This invention is a method and system for reserving and controlling access to products and services at a remote location via a communications network. In one or more embodiment, a user uses a client computer to select desired products and services. The system returns a price offer for the packaged products and services. Upon acceptance of the price offer, the selection of products and services is forwarded to an operations center for the building of an event regarding the redemption of the products and services. The system allocates a time frame for the redemption of each of the products and services as well as determining the order of redemption, based on polling a plurality of users desiring the same products and services in an event. The information generated by the operation center is then forwarded to a location for the redemption of the products and services. Access to the goods and services is then controlled by using machine readable labels coupled with interrogation devices for the relating of users to information regarding the user's reservation.
