Tiling production of packaging materials
09818070 · 2017-11-14 · ·

The present invention extends to methods, machines, systems, and computer program products for producing multiple packaging products in a tiled configuration within source production material, enabling production of multiple packaging products in parallel. Embodiments include accessing item data identifying items that are to be packaged, and determining packaging requirements for each item. A pair of box sizes that satisfy the packaging requirements are selected for tiled production. A packaging production machine to be used is also selected. Selection of the box sizes and/or the packaging production machine is based on a collective analysis of packaging requirements, packing system characteristics, and packaging machine characteristics. Based on the collective analysis, it is determined how to allocate box production to the production machine, and the pair of box sizes is matched to the production machine. Box production instructions are generated and sent to the packaging production machine.

System and method for providing digital content

A method of delivering digital content for use on an electronic cutting machine. The method includes displaying at least one themed project in a rich internet application, where the themed project has at least one glyph of a glyph collection. The method further includes providing access to the rich internet application over a network and offering purchased access to the glyph collection. Any glyphs of the glyph collection can be added to the themed project. The themed project is cuttable on an electronic cutting machine in communication with the rich internet application.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING PATTERNS AND CUTTING AND APPLYING WINDOW FILMS AND PAINT PROTECTION FILMS

A method, software application, and system for assembling a pattern and cutting and applying a film to a vehicle, including: receiving a vehicle identification and obtaining the pattern associated with the received vehicle identification using pattern assembly instructions stored in a memory and executed by a processor; modifying the pattern using pattern modification instructions stored in the memory and executed by the processor; transmitting the pattern to a cutting machine, wherein the cutting machine is operable for cutting the film according to the pattern; and transmitting installation instructions associated with the pattern to a mobile device that is adapted to be utilized by an installer/user and display the installation instructions proximate the vehicle.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPTIMIZATION OF PACKAGING LARGE IRREGULAR PAYLOADS FOR SHIPMENT BY AIR VEHICLES

Methods of determining a final space reservation for a new aircraft are disclosed. The methods include using parametric definitions of potential payloads to generate a population of representative payloads for use in creating an initial space reservation. The methods include accounting for and applying a variety of margins on each potential payload and taking the union of potential payloads. Alternatively, the union can be taken first and then the margins applied. A homogenous space reservation can be determined based upon a variety of differently shaped or sized payloads, including a margin build-up to mitigate risk of unknowns associated with future changes in specific payload shapes and sizes, build tolerances, environmental conditions, and/or loading and unloading motions and clearances. Once this space reservation is known, it is possible to design an external shape of a carrying vehicle by staying outside of this space reservation.

REEL EDITOR FOR PRE-PRINT PAPER, SHEET, AND BOX MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
20220204298 · 2022-06-30 ·

Systems for providing efficient manufacturing of paper, sheet, and/or box products of varying size and structure, often with pre-applied print (“pre-print”), are provided herein. Efficient customer ordering/tracking, job aggregation, print imposition, corrugator planning, and tracking and adjustments throughout the manufacturing process are contemplated. A reel editor is configured to edit the roll based on waste and/or errors that occurred during various manufacturing processes (e.g., during printing). A control plan defining what is on each roll of printed web product may be updated after editing. Depending on the configuration, the reel editor may be integrated with various manufacturing components. The reel editor may be configured to determine if there is enough waste on the roll to even making editing worthwhile, such as based on desired quality of the images, customer requirements, different price points, among other possible factors.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PART DESIGN USING HETEROGENEOUS CONSTRAINTS

A method of classifying design criteria includes receiving design criteria for a product part. The criteria comprise one or both of performance and manufacturing criteria. The design criteria are sorted into different classes of one or both of one or more objective functions and one or more constraints based on when they can be satisfied or optimized. Constraint violations are determined. A design workflow is produced to generate one or more designs of a part to comply with one or more of satisfying constraints and optimizing objective functions.

SYSTEM OF CUTTING A HOMOGENEOUS WORK PRODUCT INTO NATURAL SHAPES WITH RANDOMNESS

A system 10 may be used to carry out methods for portioning substantially uniform food products 12 into a series of intentionally created unique variations of one or more predetermined reference shapes to resemble naturally occurring food product shapes. The method includes scanning the uniform food product and generating digital data based on the results of the scanning. This data is used to generate a series of unique variations of one or more predetermined reference shapes based on one or more specified physical parameters for the unique variation shapes. Cutting paths are generated for cutting the substantially uniform food product 12 into the digitally generated unique variation shapes 44. A control system 30 controls the operation of a cutting apparatus 22 cut the substantially uniform food product 12 along the generated cutting paths thereby portioning the substantially uniform food product into unique variations of naturally occurring food product shapes.

Parking management system and parking management method

A parking management system includes: a vacant slot sensor which detects a vacant slot among parking slots and creates vacant slot information indicating the position of the vacant slot; a vehicle information obtainment unit which obtains vehicle information of a vehicle; a first information obtainment unit which obtains first information indicating the presence or absence of a passenger of the vehicle; and a parking slot determination unit which determines a parking slot in which the vehicle is to be parked, and outputs the parking slot. When there are vacant slots and the first information indicates that a passenger is present, the parking slot determination unit determines, as the parking slot, a vacant slot located at a first distance from a facility which the passenger uses after alighting from the vehicle, preferentially over a vacant slot located at a second distance, which is greater than the first distance, from the facility.

System and method for ecommerce ticket sales based on seat occupancy

A system and method for sensing a seat occupancy by an individual and executing an ecommerce transaction via the individual's mobile device for the cost of a ticket based on the occupied seat. For example, an attendee enters a multiplex and chooses a theater and a seat from which to watch a movie, or a passenger enters a station and chooses a train and a seat in which to travel. In both cases, the occupancy of the seat is detected, an amount owed is determined based on the occupancy of the seat, and an ecommerce transaction is initiated via the mobile device to pay the amount. The determination of the amount may be delayed for a period after the individual has stopped moving to ensure they have made their final choice. The individual may be required to verify a relevant characteristic, such as age or membership in a discounted group.
