Control circuit and related method for controlling display panel

A control circuit configured to control a display panel includes a display driver circuit, a touch sensing circuit and a fingerprint sensing circuit. The touch sensing circuit, coupled to the display driver circuit and the fingerprint sensing circuit, is configured to detect a finger touch on the display panel, determine a position of the display panel on which the finger touch is detected, and send information associated with the position to the fingerprint sensing circuit. The fingerprint sensing circuit is configured to perform fingerprint sensing on at least one zone corresponding to the position and receive fingerprint image signals from the at least one zone correspondingly.

Unlocking a device using multiple prints

In some examples, a computing device may display a user interface (UI) to configure a multiple print unlock. The UI may determine a first plurality of prints placed on a touchscreen. Individual prints of the first plurality of prints may include a thumb print or a fingerprint. After the computing device has been inactive for a predetermined amount of time, the UI may lock the computing device. The UI may determine a second plurality of prints placed on a touchscreen and perform a comparison of the second plurality of prints to the first plurality of prints. If the UI determines that the second plurality of prints matches the first plurality of prints, then the UI may unlock the computing device. If the UI determines that the second plurality of prints does not match the first plurality of prints, then the computing device may remain locked.

Systems and methods for enrolling and authenticating a user in an authentication system via a user's camera of camera equipped mobile device include capturing and storing enrollment biometric information from at least one first image of the user taken via the camera of the mobile device, capturing authentication biometric information from at least one second image of the user, capturing, during imaging of the at least one second image, path parameters via at least one movement detecting sensor indicating an authentication movement of the mobile device, comparing the authentication biometric information to the stored enrollment biometric information, and comparing the authentication movement of the mobile device to an expected movement of the mobile device to determine whether the authentication movement sufficiently corresponds to the expected movement.

Automatic retries for facial recognition

An operation of a facial recognition authentication process may fail to authenticate a user even if the user is an authorized user of the device. In such cases, the facial recognition authentication process may automatically re-initiate to provide another attempt to authenticate the user using additional captured images. For the new attempt (e.g., the retry) to authenticate the user, one or more criteria for the images used in the facial recognition authentication process may be adjusted. For example, criteria for distance between the camera and the user's face and/or occlusion of the user's face in the images may be adjusted before the new attempt to authenticate the user. Adjustment of these criteria may increase the likelihood that the authorized user will be successfully authenticated in the new attempt.

Facial recognition for user authentication

Systems and methods for utilizing an image capture device to scan facial features of a user, responsive to recognition of a plurality of beam projection points on the face of the user. The first data captured from scanning the facial features may be authenticated against a facial depth map stored as a data structure in a data storage medium. In response to successful authentication, the facial features of the user may be continually scanned to detect facial movements indicative of the user's liveness. Access may be granted to the user, in response to verifying the user's liveness.

System and method for access control using a plurality of images

Aspects of the invention provide, in some aspects, a method of face recognition that includes receiving plural frames of a video stream imaging a candidate individual, e.g., in the field of view of a camera, and generating for each of those frames a score of the image and/or of the candidate therein. This can include, for example, a score (or count) indicative of the number of individuals present in the frame, a pose of the candidate individual (e.g., face-on or otherwise), blur in the image, and so forth. The method further includes selecting, based on the respective scores of the frames, a subset of the frames for matching by a face recognizer against a set of one or more images of designated individuals. That set may be of individuals approved for access, individuals to be prevented for access, or otherwise. An output is generated, according to the method, based on such matching by the face recognizer.
