METHOD FOR PAYING A FEE FOR ALLOWING A VEHICLE TO USE A ROAD NETWORK THAT IS SUBJECT TO TOLL CHARGES, AND TOLL SYSTEM FOR PERFORMING THE METHOD
20220374890 · 2022-11-24 ·

In a toll system for paying a fee for allowing a vehicle to use a road network, a random generator generates a random character string and transmits it to an electronic payment system and to a monitoring device for an on-road check on a usage authorization of vehicles using the road network. A user registers with the payment system in order to acquire a usage authorization and inputs a registration number of the vehicle intended for use. The payment system generates a hash value and transmits it to an electronic operator system of a toll operator. The monitoring device records a registration number of the vehicle and generates the hash value from the registration number and the currently valid character string. The operator system checks whether the hash value from the monitoring device matches a hash value from the payment system.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM

The present disclosure relates to an information processing device and method, and a program that enable processing corresponding to a recognition result with respect to a license plate of a vehicle.

On the basis of a recognition result with respect to a license plate of a vehicle in a captured image, characteristic information of the vehicle is extracted from the captured image, and processing corresponding to the extracted characteristic information of the vehicle is performed. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, an information processing device, an image processing device, a communication device, an electronic apparatus, an information processing method, a program, or the like.

SYSTEM AND METHOD TO PRESERVE USER'S PRIVACY IN A VEHICLE MILES TRAVELED SYSTEM

A road usage charge system uses a proprietary blockchain to conduct transactions for road usage fees. While driving, a mobile device or equivalent tracks the vehicle location, speed, time of day, day of week, and any other parameter that may be used to modify a base road use fee are tracked and applied to conditional modifiers of the smart contract to create a new transaction block. As a result, the tedious reconciliation process normally associated with vehicular payments can be avoided.

Method for purchasing goods, access authorizations or authorizations for using a service from a plurality of offered goods, access authorizations or authorizations for using a service

A method for purchasing goods, access authorizations or authorizations for using a service from a plurality of offered goods, access authorizations or authorizations for using a service. A defined spatial region is subdivided into defined subregions assigned, in each case, to a purchasable good, access authorization or authorization for using a service. A good, an access authorization or an authorization for using a service from a plurality of offered goods, access authorizations or authorizations for using a service is purchased, and a user registered in advance for carrying out the method on the basis of biometric features and/or on the basis of features, which may be assigned to the user uniquely, or an item registered in advance for carrying out the method is identified and localized in the defined subregion (1, 2, 3) assigned to the good, access authorization or authorization for using a service.

Combining user device identity with vehicle information for traffic zone detection

The described technology is generally directed towards combining user identity information, corresponding to user profile data, with vehicle information, such as for use by a traffic zone management system that charges a fee for vehicle usage in a traffic zone. A user device, such as a mobile communications device, can be coupled to vehicle information such as via a transponder that is detected by roadside units, or by uploading the combined information to a wireless communications system. Based on the combination of information, different billing rates or the like can be applied to different users and vehicle types. The technology can work with various communication systems, including roadside units and wireless communication networks.

SYSTEM COMPRISING AN ON-BOARD UNIT FOR TELEMATIC TRAFFIC SERVICES
20220358793 · 2022-11-10 ·

A system comprising an on-board unit (OBU) for a telematic traffic service, for example an automatic toll collection service, and a software application which can be executed by an external user device, for example a smartphone, is described. The OBU comprises both a radiofrequency communication module for communicating with the road-side units (RSU) of the telematic traffic service and a proximity communications module (for example Bluetooth) for communicating with the external user device. The data processing unit of the OBU executes software applications which support the telematic traffic service and additional services. The software application executed by the external user device provides the user, via the user interface of the external user device and the proximity communications module of the OBU, with access to the telematic traffic service and to the additional services supported by the OBU.

DETACHABLE RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION SWITCH TAG
20230045784 · 2023-02-09 ·

A radio frequency identification (RFID) switch tag is disclosed. This RFID switch tag includes a base component having an ultra-high frequency (UHF) booster, and a detachable component having at least one UHF RFID module and a high frequency (HF) RFID module. In some embodiments, the detachable component is positioned in close proximity to the base component in a first configuration of the RFID switch tag such that the at least one UHF RFID module is sufficiently coupled to the UHF booster in the base component to form an UHF RFID system having a desired performance. The detachable component can also be separated from the base component to obtain a second configuration of the RFID switch tag, and the HF RFID module remains functional within the detached detachable component so that the detachable component can be used as a standalone HF RFID tag.

HIGH ACCURACY GEO-LOCATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MOBILE PAYMENT

Location polygons are defined along traffic lanes and parking spaces to facilitate determination of the location of a vehicle relative to features associated with the location polygons. The location polygons are used, in one application, to identity entrance and exit of a special toll lane along a roadway, and to ensure that the vehicle properly enters and exits the tolling lane. The location polygons define geofenced regions, and each definition for a geofenced region can include one or more rules that are used to evaluate location information reported by a user’s equipment. The rules dictate whether an action it taken or inhibited, such as charging a toll or not charging a toll, based on other location information reported by the user’s equipment.

Device, System and Method for Electronic Toll Tax Payment
20220351551 · 2022-11-03 ·

The present invention relates to a novel wireless toll payment transponder device that can be embedded or retrofitted to a vehicle. More specifically, the toll payment device is used for paying toll tax at toll booths without blocking the field of vision of the driver of the vehicle. The device provides efficient movement of the vehicles on highways and through toll booths, without the fear of an accident. The device includes a transponder for wireless communication and storage of transponder information. The transponder further includes a location detector for detecting the location of the vehicle to which the device is mounted. The transponder device enables payment of toll taxes while providing location information simultaneously.

System and method for tracking vehicle toll transponder use by transient users

A system and method associate a transponder identifier with a transient user account. The account is automatically activated and vehicle license plate information from the transient user's vehicle is automatically associated upon departure of the transient user from a vehicle departure point of a transportation hub. Toll charges incurred by the vehicle can then be associated with the transient user's account based on either reading the transponder identifier or capturing the license plate information. The account is automatically deactivated and closed-out upon return of the vehicle to a vehicle return point at the end of the transient use.
