Devices for preparing a drink extracted from a capsule include a capsule mounting and a capsule housing, inside of which at least one water inlet and a capsule-boring means are arranged, wherein the housing is sized so as to at least partially deform any capsule, consisting of a material that is deformable when placed in contact with hot water and placed in the housing, such that the capsule is retained in the housing after the contact thereof with the hot water.

The present application relates to improvements in machines for the preparation of beverage and food products, and in particular to such a machine which utilizes a compressed tablet of food or beverage product, which is inserted into the brew chamber of the machine, into which a liquid is directed to break up or dissolve the tablet. The machine for preparing a beverage or food product from a compressed disc of at least one ingredient includes a sealable brew chamber, and said brew chamber includes means for mounting the disc so that it is able to spin freely around a central axis. The brew chamber further includes an at least one nozzle having an outlet in the brew chamber located to direct a jet of liquid at a peripheral edge of the disc mounted in the brew chamber.

A system for preparing a brewed beverage from at least one flavorant includes a housing, a receptacle connectable to the housing for holding the at least one flavorant and a reservoir connectable to the housing. The receptacle including a first fluid inlet and a second fluid inlet and a first fluid flow path fluidly connects the reservoir to the first fluid inlet and a second fluid flow path fluidly connects the reservoir to the second fluid inlet.

Disclosed is a capsule container for producing an infused beverage by an infusion assembly operating with a capsule or pod containing an aromatic substance. At least one output passage for the infused beverage is obtained in the capsule container. Such output passage is engaged by a valve member axially translatable between a closed position of the output passage, when there is no capsule in the container, and an open position of the output passage when there is a capsule in the container.

A beverage brewing container is configured to be disposed within a brewing chamber of a beverage brewer and to hold brewing material while being brewed. The container includes a receptacle and a cover. The receptacle includes a base and a sidewall. The base has an interior surface and a passageway in an interior area of the base. The sidewall extends upward from the interior surface of the base. The cover is adapted to sealingly engage with a top edge of the sidewall and includes an opening. The container is configured to accept input fluid through the opening and to provide a corresponding outflow of fluid through the passageway. The passageway allows the outflow fluid to flow from the container without being substantially received by a needle of the beverage brewer.

The present disclosure relates to a beverage capsule for use in a brewed beverage machine including a piercing element, the capsule comprising: a container defining an interior volume including a base configured for being perforated upon contact with a piercing element; a filter assembly disposed in the interior volume and dividing the interior volume into a first chamber for receiving beverage ingredients and a brewing medium and a second chamber, the assembly comprising: a filter element; and a registration element disposed above the filter element and configured for disposing the filter assembly into the container, wherein the filter element separates the registration element from the second chamber and is arranged to be contacted and pierced by the piercing element.

A system for preparing a brewed beverage from at least one flavorant includes a housing, a receptacle connectable to the housing for holding the at least one flavorant and a reservoir connectable to the housing. The receptacle including a first fluid inlet and a second fluid inlet and a first fluid flow path fluidly connects the reservoir to the first fluid inlet and a second fluid flow path fluidly connects the reservoir to the second fluid inlet.

A beverage capsule includes a body defining an interior space having an opening. A filter is disposed in the interior space to define an ingredients chamber for containing and filtering ingredients for preparing a desired beverage product. The filter is formed of a hydrophobic and non-absorbent polymer material having a basis weight of less than 40 gsm, wherein said filter has a tensile strength of less than 100 N/5 cm in the Machine Direction (MD) and 70 N/5 cm or less in the Cross Direction (CD). The present invention is directed to a capsule holder (2) for holding a capsule (C) carrying a beverage component and for being attachable in an attachment direction (I) to a beverage preparation device (3) of a beverage preparation machine (1) for beverage production, the capsule holder (2) comprising a holder body (4) having a cavity (40) configured to receive a capsule (C) via an insertion opening (41), and a lock element (5) for fixing the capsule holder (2) to the beverage preparation device, wherein the lock element (5) and the holder body (4) are connected to each other so that i) the lock element (5) is rotatably moveable relative to the holder body (4) about a fixing axis (F), and ii) the holder body (4) is translationally moveable relative to the lock element (5) along the attachment direction (I). The present invention is further directed to a beverage preparation machine (1) comprising a capsule holder (2) according to the present invention and a beverage preparation device (3). Moreover, the present invention is further directed to a method for delivering a liquid through a beverage preparation machine (1) according to the present invention.
