A method for operating an access control comprises creating a plurality of wake-up schedules for a wireless transceiver. Each of the plurality of wake-up schedules may be configured to control how frequently the wireless transceiver wakes up to transmit or receive information. Each of the plurality of wake-up schedules for the wireless transceiver may be different from another one or the plurality of wake-up schedules for the wireless transceiver. The method may further comprise automatically switching between the plurality of wake-up schedules for the wireless transceiver such that a duration of time between wake-ups for the wireless transceiver radio is shorter during some predefined times and longer during other predefined times. The duration of time between wake-ups for the wireless transceiver may be configurable by an administrative user via an interface.

USE OF A PAYMENT CARD TO UNLOCK A LOCK

Exemplary embodiments may provide keys for unlocking access to a location, like a user room, a secure location, a door at an employee location, a trunk, a closet or other locked location or item, on a payment card. Examples of a payment card include but are not limited to a credit card, a debit card, a smart card, an employee identification card, etc. A secure token that acts as digital key may be uploaded to the payment card. The payment card may then be put in close proximity of a wireless reader at the lock. The wireless reader obtains the secure token and extracts the contents. If the contents are proper, the lock is unlocked. Otherwise, the lock remains locked.

ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM AND A METHOD THEREIN FOR HANDLING ACCESS TO AN ACCESS-RESTRICTED PHYSICAL RESOURCE
20230072114 · 2023-03-09 · ·

An access control system and a method performed therein, for handling access to an access-restricted physical resource. The method comprises, by means of a first credential reader, receiving an initiating access request credential initiating a request to give one or more visitors access to a first access-restricted physical resource. The method further comprises, by means of the first credential reader, receiving a visitor credential for each visitor for which access is requested, and, by means of a second credential reader, receiving a finalising access request credential finalising the request to give the one or more visitors access. Furthermore, the method comprises, by means of a first resource controller, allowing a visitor to access the first access-restricted physical resource upon presenting the visitor's visitor credential to the first credential reader.

ESTABLISHMENT OF SECURE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION TO INTERNET OF THINGS DEVICES, SUCH AS ELECTRONIC LOCKS
20220335764 · 2022-10-20 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed for managing secure connection between a mobile device and an Internet of things device, such as an electronic lock. In some instances, a mutual authentication process is performed, and public keys are exchanged. Once keys are exchanged, subsequent communication between the devices may be encrypted using a shared key generated using the exchanged keys.

SYSTEMS FOR SHARED VEHICLE ACCESS

The present systems, devices, and methods relate to managing shared vehicle access. Vehicle access can be provided to a candidate user based on whether the user is included in a list of at least one user associated with a respective virtual key. Virtual keys can be created, or lists of at least one user can be updated to include the candidate user, to in turn provide vehicle access. Virtual keys can be stored in a plurality of virtual key slots, with vehicle access being provided based on a virtual key stored in an active key slot. Status reports can be sent to a reservation management device, for updating virtual keys or lists of at least one user.

System and method for permitting a request after verifying knowledge of first and second secrets

A method for multi-party authorization includes a security component determining that a request for the performance of an action on a computing device is from a first party. The security component initiates transmissions to the computing device of first and second information indicating knowledge of first and second secrets provisioned on the computing device. The computing device, upon verifying the knowledge of first and second secrets, then permits the requested action.

Control system and control method for construction machinery

A control system for construction machinery includes a smart key configured to store a plurality of authentication codes and activate any one of the authentication codes, and a plurality of construction machines including a plurality of smart key modules mounted thereon respectively, the smart key modules communicating wirelessly with the smart key and having respective registration authentication codes which match with the authentication codes respectively. The construction machine including the smart key module having the registration authentication code which matches with the activated authentication code is controlled by the smart key.

Key information sharing system, delivery device and user terminal

A key information sharing system includes a delivery device that delivers key information as first information for a control device equipped in an object and a user terminal that receives the first information delivered from the delivery device. The delivery device adds second information that allows the first information to be transferred between the user terminal and a third-party terminal without the delivery device, to the first information to be delivered to the user terminal. The user terminal transmits the first information to the third-party terminal in response to an input operation by a user, when the user terminal receives the first information to which the second information has been added.

Utilizing caveats for wireless credential access

A method according to one embodiment includes receiving, by an access control device, a credential token from a mobile device, wherein the credential token includes an access credential, a credential identifier, and a caveat that instructs the access control device to perform an associated action, determining, by the access control device, a credential type associated with the access credential based on the credential identifier, determining, by the access control device, a set of caveat rules associated with the credential type, wherein the set of caveat rules identifies one or more actions authorized for an access credential of the credential type, and performing, by the access control device, the associated action identified by the caveat in response to a determination that the associated action is an action authorized by the set of caveat rules associated with the credential type.
