A wearable device can include a telecommunications carrier identification module (e.g., SIM), cellular RF communications, and short-range RF communications. A registration module can register secure electronic systems, authenticate a wearable device user, and grant the wearable device user with access to secured electronic systems if the wearable device user is authenticated by at least one of the wearable device, the registration module, a carrier network, a remote server, and the secured electronic system. Authentication can include biometric measurement facilitated by the wearable device.

Method for unlocking a function using a timepiece

The present embodiments provide a method for unlocking a function of a device using a timepiece including a display device including display elements and a control device driving the display elements in a predefined animation sequence. The method including that the timepiece is placed in front of a detection device, the control device is actuated to drive the display elements in the predefined animation sequence, the predefined animation sequence is detected by the detection device, the detected animation sequence is compared to a reference animation sequence, and if the detected animation sequence is identical to the reference animation sequence, then the function is unlocked.

PAIRABLE SECURE-ACCESS FACILITIES

Systems and methods are provided for providing access to secure-access facilities based on pairing of the secure-access facilities with a user device such as a wearable device. A pairable secure-access facility may be a public storage facility or device such as a locker that includes communications circuitry for pairing with the user device. Once paired with the user device, the locker may operate a locking mechanism to lock the locker when the user device is away from the locker and to unlock the locker when the user device is in the vicinity of the locker. The locker may include a beacon for detecting and pairing with the user devices. Pairing the user device and the locker may include entering a locker identifier into the user device to ensure that the intended user device is paired with the intended locker.

An identification device includes a ring incorporating at least one radiofrequency transponder which includes at least one microcontroller and at least one antenna to emit an electromagnetic field conveying identification data. The identification device further includes an electrical circuit having at least one light-sensitive element. The electrical circuit is mounted electrically between the microcontroller and the antenna such that, when the light-sensitive element receives light, the light-sensitive element acts in a first state as an open switch to electrically isolate the antenna with respect to the microcontroller. When the light-sensitive element is masked, the light-sensitive element acts in a second state as a closed switch, so as to establish an electrical connection between the antenna and the microcontroller in order to permit a current originating from electromagnetic induction of the antenna to flow.
