Embodiments relate to a non-fungible physical (NFP) item. The non-fungible physical (NFP) item comprises an identifier. The identifier is embedded and layered within the non-fungible physical item in an unplanned pattern. The identifier in the unplanned pattern is configured to provide high security against counterfeiting of the non-fungible physical (NFP) item. The identifier comprises at least one of a random marker and a unique marker. The unplanned pattern comprises at least one of a random pattern and a unique pattern. Further the non-fungible physical (NFP) item is registered as a non-fungible token on a blockchain. The NFP item is then paired with the non-fungible token for enabling two-way mutual authentication and enhanced authenticity. The pairing of the NFP item with the non-fungible token enables tracking condition, provenance, and grading of the NFP item.

Proceeds deposit machine has determination setting data containing correspondence between types of the coupons and information relating to necessity of authentication determination. A type determination unit determines the type of deposited coupon and then refers to the determination setting data. If yes has been set for the necessity of the authentication determination for the determined type of coupon, an authentication determination unit performs authentication determination. If the coupon is determined to be a counterfeit as result of the authentication determination, the proceeds deposit machine discharges this coupon. If the coupon is determined to be genuine, proceeds deposit machine stores this coupon in one of sheet cassettes. If no has been set for the necessity of the authentication determination for the determined type of the coupon, proceeds deposit machine stores this coupon in one of the sheet cassettes without performing the authentication determination by the authentication determination unit.

Method of marking a holographic matrix and holographic matrix produced by this method

A method of marking a holographic matrix. The method includes forming the holographic matrix, which is designed to produce holograms by printing. At least one anti-copy mark on the holographic matrix is formed and at least one copy-robust mark on the holographic matrix is formed. At least one of the steps for forming at least one mark on the holographic matrix uses laser-structuring of the holographic matrix surface. Preferably, the anti-copy mark represents a message and a plurality of redundancies of the message carried by the anti-copy mark. Also, preferably, a picosecond laser is used to form the anti-copy mark is formed.

IDENTIFICATION DEVICES, IDENTIFICATION METHODS, IDENTIFICATION PROGRAMS AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIA INCLUDING IDENTIFICATION PROGRAMS

An identification device according to the present invention that performs authenticity determination of an article provided with an anti-counterfeiting medium whose observed light pattern changes depending on an observation angle includes a similarity calculating unit that calculates a degree of similarity between captured image data of the anti-counterfeiting medium and reference image data; an authenticity determination unit that performs authenticity determination as to whether the anti-counterfeiting medium is genuine or not on the basis of whether the degree of similarity exceeds a predetermined threshold or not; and a match-percentage notification unit that notifies a match-percentage indicative of a degree of match between an imaging viewpoint for imaging the anti-counterfeiting medium and a reference imaging viewpoint which is predefined as the imaging viewpoint for the captured image data used for authenticity determination.

OBJECT AND SYSTEM FOR DUPLICATION PREVENTION USING RANDOM MEDIA, AND DUPLICATION PREVENTION METHOD USING SAME
20190005758 · 2019-01-03 ·

The present invention relates to a system and method for preventing duplication by determining, using random media, whether an object (money, an identification card, a credit card, or the like) is counterfeited or duplicated. An object for preventing duplication by using random media, according to the present invention, includes a random medium in which a plurality of particles having irregular sizes and shapes are mixed, wherein the particles are obtained by pulverization or nano-processing of different media or the same media.

Method for determining authenticity using images that exhibit parallax

A method for determining the validity of a parallax image including receiving a captured two-dimensional image of a parallax image having at least three target identifiers, where at least two target identifiers are located at different depth planes in the parallax image; identifying the at least three target identifiers in the captured two-dimensional image of the parallax image and determining the spatial relationship between the at least three target identifiers in the two-dimensional image of the parallax image; comparing the spatial relationship of the at least three target identifiers in the captured two-dimensional image of the parallax image against a predetermined spatial relationship of the at least three target identifiers that indicates authenticity; and adjudicating the authenticity of the parallax image based on the degree of difference between the spatial relationship of the at least three target identifiers in the captured two-dimensional image and the predetermined spatial relationship.

System, method and computer program product for ascertaining document liveness

A document liveness detection method comprising using a hardware processor for prompting an end-user of an electronic device, having a camera, to provide an image sequence of a physical document whose orientation is undergoing change; and image-processing the image sequence to yield an output indication of whether or not the image sequence was generated by capturing a live or physical document; and providing the output indication to at least one computerized system or human.

Security device

A security device comprises a transparent, colored element in a first region of the device and in a surface of which a first optically variable effect generating relief structure is formed. A reflection enhancing layer extends over the first optically variable effect generating relief microstructure and follows the contour of the relief, the reflection enhancing layer also being provided in a second region of the device laterally offset from the first region.
