This disclosure relates to a banknote validator. The banknote validator comprises a banknote path disposed within an interior of the banknote validator, the banknote path including a banknote imaging zone, one or more banknote edge detection surfaces each configured to provide images of edges of a banknote in the banknote path, a banknote imaging sensor configured to provide an image of at least one portion of the banknote imaging zone, and an image sensor configured to capture the images of the edges of the banknote provided by the one or more banknote edge detection surfaces, and capture the image of the at least one portion of the banknote imaging zone provided by the banknote imaging sensor.
SENSOR AND INSPECTION DEVICE
According to an embodiment of the invention, a sensor includes a first element part. The first element part includes a first member and a first element. The first member is tubular and extends along a first direction. The first member includes a first opening and a second opening. A direction from the second opening toward the first opening is along the first direction. The first element includes a vibratile first membrane, and a first supporter supporting the first membrane. The second opening is between the first opening and the first membrane in the first direction.
Systems and methods relating to document and fastener identification
Method and systems of automated document processing described herein include activating in sequence a plurality of illumination modules of an illumination source to illuminate a document, where the plurality of illumination modules are located at different positions relative to the document. The document can be imaged each time the document is illuminated by an illumination module to provide a plurality of images. A shadow profile of the document can be obtained based on the plurality of images. One or more of a boundary of the document and presence of a fastener attached to the document can be identified using the shadow profile. Any fasteners present may be removed using a robot arm.

ILLEGAL-ACT DETECTING MECHANISM, PAPER SHEET TRANSPORT DEVICE, AND PAPER SHEET HANDLING DEVICE (as amended)
In an illegal-act detecting mechanism including an opening/closing member for detecting an illegal act and preventing pullout, at the time of stopping the opening/closing member at an initial rotation position, it is prevented that a stop position is deviated due to overrun by an inertial force of a motor. The illegal-act detecting mechanism includes an opening/closing member 50 that permits passage of a paper sheet at the initial rotation position, and blocks passage of the paper sheet at a non-initial rotation position deviated from the initial rotation position, a rotary member 70 that integrally rotates with the opening/closing member, a driving member 90 pivotally supported so as to be able to rotate relative to the opening/closing member, and a drive transmission mechanism 100. The drive transmission mechanism includes at least one driven piece provided in the rotary member, at least one driving piece that is provided in the driving member and intermittently drives and rotates the rotary member, and a buffer member 101 that biases the driven piece and the driving piece in a direction away from each other.
Transducer and inspection device
According to one embodiment, a transducer includes first structure sections and second structure sections. The first structure sections are spaced from each other in a first direction. Part of each of the first structure sections is fixed. The each of the first structure sections includes a first membrane part, a first piezoelectric part, a first conductive part, and a first electrode. The second structure sections are spaced from each other in the first direction. Part of each of the second structure sections is fixed. The each of the second structure sections includes a second membrane part, a second piezoelectric part, a second conductive part, and a second electrode. The second structure sections are spaced from the first structure sections in the first direction. Pitch along the first direction of the second structure sections is shorter than pitch along the first direction of the first structure sections.
