Folded bill identification method and device
A folded bill recognizing method and a folded bill recognizing device are provided. The folded bill recognizing device includes: a bill input port configured to receive a to-be-recognized bill or a sample bill; a signal collecting module configured to collect a CIS image of the bill, to obtain an infrared transmission image T and an infrared reflection image F; a signal recognizing module configured to recognize whether the to-be-recognized bill has a fold; and a receiving/rejecting module configured to perform a receiving or rejecting operation on the to-be-recognized bill. The device can effectively recognize a folded bill.
Authentication method and system
A method for authenticating an object, comprising determining a physical dispersion pattern of a set of elements, determining a physical characteristic of the set of elements which is distinct from a physical characteristic producible by a transfer printing technology, determining a digital code associated with the object defining the physical dispersion pattern, and authenticating the object by verifying a correspondence of the digital code with the physical dispersion pattern, and verifying the physical characteristic.
Image correction
An image captured for a currency note is preprocessed to correct pixel intensity values to expected pixel intensity values. The corrected image is passed to a currency validator for determining whether the currency not is genuine or non-genuine.
Collation device and non-transitory computer readable medium storing program
A collation device includes a light source unit; a camera unit that receives light emitted from the light source unit and reflected in a collation area of an object to acquire a photographed image of the collation area; and a processor configured to, by executing a program: detect a positional relationship between the light source unit and the camera unit by using the photographed image, and notify of a collation result between the photographed image and a registered image prepared in advance by using the positional relationship.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING STAINING
A method for detecting staining on a media item, the method comprising: capturing (22) a digital image of the media item, the digital image comprising a plurality of pixels representing colour information of the media item; comparing (30) the captured digital image to a reference image, wherein comparing the captured digital image to the reference image comprises: generating a histogram for each of a plurality of kernel patches of the captured digital image, wherein each of the plurality of kernel patches of the captured digital image covers an area of the captured digital image, such that the entire captured digital image is covered by the plurality of kernel patches; comparing (40) the histogram for each of the plurality of kernel patches of the captured digital image to a histogram of a corresponding kernel patch of the reference image to generate a distance metric; and based on the generated distance metrics, determining if staining is present on the media item.

EMBEDDED VARIABLE LINE PATTERNS FOR IMAGES
In some implementations, a system is capable of generating identifications that include distinctive line patterns corresponding to different portions of secure customer information. Data indicating an input image, and a dithering matrix representing a two-dimensional array of pixel values is obtained. Pixel values of pixels included in the input image are transformed using the dithering matrix. For each pixel within the input image, the transformation includes identifying a particular pixel value within the dithering matrix that represents a particular pixel within the input image, and adjusting an intensity value of the particular pixel based on attributes of the dithering matrix. A transformed image is generated based on the transformation and then provided for output.
Method and device for banknote identification based on thickness signal identification
A method and device for banknote identification based on thickness signal identification, allowing for simple and highly efficient identification and separation of abnormal banknotes by means of combining two thickness identification methods, namely an upward-facing area identification method and a downward-facing area identification method, for banknote identification. The recognition method comprises: collecting a thickness signal of a banknote; preprocessing the thickness signal; utilizing an upward-facing area identification method to identify the thickness signal, thus acquiring an upward-facing processing identification result; utilizing a downward-facing area identification method to identify the thickness signal, thus acquiring a downward-facing processing identification result; merging the upward-facing identification processing result and the downward-facing processing identification result on the basis of a predetermined rule, acquiring a merged result; and, identifying the merged result, thus acquiring an identification result.
Identity document digital image correction method, system and computer program
An identity document digital image correction method comprising identifying the type, class and issue of a presented identity document from features in a digital image thereof; retrieving from a reference identity document repository, information about a reference authentic version of an identity document of the same type, class and issue as the presented identity document; allowing a user to select at least two features in the digital image of the presented identity document calculating the distance between the two selected features; determining the distance between corresponding features in the reference authentic version of the identity document; calculating a scaling factor .sub.x, y from the ratio of the distance between the two selected features in the presented identity document and the distance between corresponding features in the reference authentic version of the identity document; applying the scaling factor to measurements of features in the digital image of the presented identity document.
