MEDIA STORAGE BIN AND METHOD
A media storage bin has a guide member mounted via a hinge adjacent to a wall of an enclosure and a second free end. The guide member directs inserted media items downward and pivots around an axis of the hinge. A base plate is mounted below the guide member in the enclosure and is arranged to hold a stack of inserted media items on a top surface thereof. A motor is coupled to move the base plate up and down within the enclosure. A controller is coupled to control movement of the motor and is configured to provide signals to the motor to move the base plate to a predetermined home position adjacent to the guide member upon startup and move the base plate upward to compress any deformed inserted media items on the base plate until an input feedback signal reaches a predetermined level.
BANKNOTE HANDLING APPARATUS, BANKNOTE STORAGE METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
A banknote handling apparatus includes a distinguishing unit that distinguishes respective paper sheets input, a first storage mechanism that temporarily stores the respective paper sheets distinguished, a plurality of second storage mechanisms that are provided for each type of paper sheet and store the corresponding paper sheet, a determination unit that determines a conveyance order of conveying the respective paper sheets from the first storage mechanism to any of the second storage mechanisms on a basis of a result of distinguishing, and a drive control unit that controls activation and stop of respective drive apparatuses that, on a basis of the conveyance order, drive each of the plurality of second storage mechanisms to store the respective paper sheets in the corresponding second storage mechanism.

MONEY HANDLING MACHINE
A storage stores money. An outlet can receive money delivered from the storage therein. The outlet is configured to allow the money to be removed from the inside of the outlet. A detector detects a removal action associated with removal of money from the outlet. The controller switches a process on money remaining in the outlet based on a detection result of the detector.

MANAGEMENT SERVER
An object of the present invention is to provide a management server which makes it possible to uniformly and rapidly limit the usage of a predetermined currency in a case in which currency handling systems including currency reading devices in each of which a wide variety of currencies are available are used. A slot machine management server 1 and a casino management system 2 manage slot machines 4S including currency handling systems 100 in each of which a wide variety of currencies are available. For example, when a currency used at any one of currency reading devices 201 of slot machines 4S provided in areas A to D is determined as a $100 banknote with limited usage after a center controller 101 of the slot machine management server 1 receives information which limits usage of the $100 banknote in the areas A to D of a map of a gaming facility 15 from an input unit 104, the center controller 101 of the slot machine management server 1 sends a command to the currency reading device 201 through a PTS terminal 700. The command causes a process which discharges a used banknote T ($100 banknote) to be performed.

Image processing system and method for detecting errors in an ATM terminal
A system is configured for detecting errors in an ATM. The system includes a processor that receives a withdrawal request from a user to receive cash from a cash dispenser of the ATM. Currency denominations and a number of bills for each currency denomination needed to fulfill the withdrawal request is determined. The system sends signal commands to cassettes of the ATM to dispense bills to fulfill the withdrawal request. A camera is positioned in a pathway of the bills being dispensed from the cassettes to the cash dispenser. The camera captures images of bills being dispensed from the cassettes and sends them to the processor. The processor generates an alert if a number of bills dispensed from at least one cassette does not match a corresponding number of bills expected to be dispensed from the at least one cassette.
