Systems and methods for cash-till optimization

The operation of one or more cash handling devices may be remotely modified by updating locally stored cash dispensing data at each of the one or more cash handling devices based at least in part on optimization data generated at a monitoring server. Operational data is received from the one or more cash handling devices and utilized to generate historical data within a historical database. Optimization parameters are received for each of one or more cash handling devices, and the optimization parameters are utilized together with the generated historical data to generate optimization data utilizing one or more optimization models. The optimization data is transmitted to applicable cash handling devices to cause the cash handling device to update locally stored executing instructions causing operation of the cash handling device to dispense cash into one or more register tills.

MONEY HANDLING SYSTEM AND MONEY HANDLING METHOD
20170358164 · 2017-12-14 · ·

A money handling system which is a transport destination allows easy handling of money processed in a first money handling apparatus which is a transport origin and installed in a shop and the like. The money handling system includes: a second money handling apparatus that receives, recognizes and counts money of a plurality of transactions processed by the first money handling apparatus, in a state where the money of each transaction cannot be distinguished per transaction; and a determination unit that acquires money information generated when the money of the plurality of transactions has been processed by the first money handling apparatus, and based on the money information and a recognition and counting result obtained by the second money handling apparatus, determines whether the money of the plurality of transactions recognized and counted by the second money handling apparatus matches with the money of the plurality of transactions processed by the first money handling apparatus.

Reconfiguration of a media recycler

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for re-configuring a recycling unit of a self-service terminal that includes a plurality of cassettes. The systems and methods can include receiving an indication that a first cassette of the plurality of cassettes has reached a storage capacity. A second cassette can be selected from the plurality of cassettes after the first cassette has reached the storage capacity. The second cassette can initially be one of a plurality of recycling cassettes. A parameter associated with the second cassette can be changed to indicate the second cassette is no longer a recycling cassette.

HYBRID DOCUMENT WITH VARIABLE STATE

A hybrid document includes a document having visible markings, one or more light-controlling elements embedded in or on the document, and a controller including a circuit having a non-volatile memory. The controller is embedded in or on the document and electrically connected to the one or more light-controlling elements for controlling the one or more light-controlling elements. A power input connection is electrically connected to any one or all of the controller, the circuit, the memory, or the one or more light-emitting elements. The memory stores a state and the circuit causes the one or more light-controlling elements to indicate the state. A hybrid document validation machine is adapted to accept one or more of the hybrid documents, change the state of the hybrid documents, and optionally display the state on a display.

Sheets processing apparatus and sheets processing method
09799157 · 2017-10-24 · ·

A sheet processing apparatus including a table to be loaded a first and a second banknote group partitioned by a header card recording the bar code number in the piling direction of the banknotes, a take-in portion to take in the banknotes of the first and second banknote groups loaded on the table and the header card, a discrimination portion to count the banknotes taken in by the take-in portion and discriminate the kind thereof, a plurality of stackers to sort and stack the banknotes discriminated by the discrimination portion on the basis of the kink thereof, and a sensor to detect the header card taken in by the take-in portion. The sheet processing apparatus additionally includes a controller to control so as to stop the taking-in of the second banknote group on the basis of detection of the header card by the sensor and after a lapse of a predetermined time, to start the taking-in of the second banknote group.

SECURITY SYSTEM

Provided is a security system for secure delivery of valuable goods. The security system includes an asset, and a portable container for transporting the valuable goods to or from the asset. An alarm system is provided for generating an alarm upon the portable container being stolen. Advantageously, the alarm system may reduce the likelihood of successful CIT armed robbery in which the portable container is stolen, thereby deterring the CIT armed robbery altogether.

Systems and methods for processing bank notes using a distributed tracking system

A distributed system for tracking bank notes as they pass through an automated currency processing system is disclosed. The bank note processing system includes a conveyance device for transporting a bank note along a transport path and a detector module comprising a detector. The detector detects raw detector information from the bank note. The detector controller is communicatively coupled to the detector module and the raw detector information is communicated to the detector controller. A host controller is communicatively coupled to the detector controller. The detector controller processes the raw detector information to determine processed detector information. The detector controller then communicates the processed detector information to the host controller.

HYBRID BANKNOTE WITH ELECTRONIC INDICIA

A hybrid currency banknote includes a banknote having visible markings. One or more light-controlling elements and a controller are embedded in or on the banknote. The controller is electrically connected to the one or more light-controlling elements to control the one or more light-controlling elements. A power input connection is electrically connected to the controller, or one or more light-controlling elements, or both. A power source can be connected to the power input connection, for example a piezoelectric or photovoltaic power source. In response to applied power, the controller causes the one or more light-controlling elements to emit light. A value can be stored in a memory in the controller and displayed by the light-controlling elements. The value can be assigned or varied by a hybrid currency teller machine.

Automated teller machine (“ATM”) currency stamper

Apparatus and methods for an automated teller machine (“ATM”) currency stamper are provided. The currency stamper may be configured to mark currency retracted by the ATM. The mark may include one or more attributes of the currency. The mark may include transaction information associated with a dispensing and/or retraction of the currency. Marked currency may be stored in the ATM. Marked currency may be scanned. A scanning of marked currency may read the attributes of the currency and the transaction information included in the mark. The scanning of the marked currency may erase the mark. A value of the marked currency may be calculated. The value may be determined based on the currency attributes and transaction information included in the mark applied to the currency.
