System for cash disinfection by applying controlled doses of ultraviolet light and methods of disinfection verification thereof
An apparatus includes a bill feeder, a housing for holding a bill that is received from the bill feeder, sensors coupled to the housing, an ultraviolet (UV) lamp that emits ultraviolet light to illuminate a portion of the bill, a UV shutter to control a power of the ultraviolet light on the bill, a memory and a processor. The processor configured to determine at a property of the bill from a first output of a first sensor, to determine a bill contaminant on the bill from a second output from a second sensor, to retrieve a UV dose rate to be applied by the ultraviolet light needed to sterilize the bill based on the type of bill contaminant on the bill, the property of the bill, an illumination area or any combination thereof, and to apply the UV dose rate to the bill.
Cash deposit at point of sale using deposit product inventory item systems and methods
A system for receiving cash deposits at a point of sale includes a processor; a product inventory database; a communication interface; a product inventory item reader; and a purchase instrument reader. The processor is configured to receive a product code from the product inventory item reader; access the product inventory database to recognize the product code as a deposit product code; receive signals indicating an amount of a deposit associated with the deposit product code; receive signals from the purchase instrument reader identifying an account for the deposit; and send signals to a transaction processing network via the communication interface to thereby effect the deposit of the amount into the account.
REAL-TIME INTERBANK TRANSACTIONS SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for performing exchanges. One method includes receiving a request identifying a payor account and an amount of funds to transfer an account associated with a customer of the depository bank computing system, determining the request qualifies for a non-inquiry transaction (NIT) protocol, transmitting, by the depository bank computing system to an account verification service computing system over the real-time data channel, a guarantee offer including a payor account token based on the shared account status information, receiving, over the real-time data channel and from the account verification service computing system, an accepted guarantee offer, crediting an account of the customer, receiving, over the real-time data channel, a guarantee override, and reversing the transfer of funds associated with the guarantee.
Utilizing a short-range wireless communication device to provide keyless access to a safe deposit box
A device receives, from a short-range wireless communication device associated with a safe deposit box, first data identifying a first transaction card, and identifies a bank employee associated with the first data. The device determines whether the bank employee is authorized to access the safe deposit box, and starts a timer when the bank employee is authorized to access the safe deposit box. The device receives, from the short-range wireless communication device, second data identifying a second transaction card, and determines whether the second data is received prior to an expiration of the timer. The device identifies a customer associated with the second data when the second data is received prior to the expiration of the timer, and determines whether the customer is authorized to access the safe deposit box. The device causes the safe deposit box to be unlocked when the customer is authorized.
System and method for automated deposit item handling
A computer system for automatically handling and releasing funds for deposit items has a memory storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the system to receive an image of a cheque received and scanned by an automated teller machine (ATM) for deposit into a first account of an institution associated with the ATM. The scanned image of the cheque is analyzed to identify an institution and account on which that cheque is drawn. If that account has sufficient available funds to cover the cheque, then the first account is credited in the amount of the cheque without placing a hold on any of the credited amount and funds of the account on which the cheque is drawn are encumbered in that same amount. After crediting the first account, an indication is provided that the funds are available (e.g., to withdraw). Related methods and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
Sheet processing apparatus
A sheet processing apparatus includes first and second sheet processing modules, a connecting module, and a storage module. In each of the first and second sheet processing modules, a sheet received from an entrance port is identified by an identifying unit, and if the sheet is qualified, the sheet is transported to a first communication port through a first transport path. In the connecting module, a first diverter mechanism is configured to permit sheet transport between a second communication port and a selected one of the first and second sheet processing modules. The storage module is disposed for receiving and storing the sheet from the connecting module.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR BULK CURRENCY NOTE DEPOSITS
A Self-Service Terminal (SST) that provides valuable media deposit features is enhanced with an apparatus fastened to an outside surface of the SST. The apparatus is adapted to receive an externally provided valuable media cassette and connect/interface a port of the cassette to an unload infeed port. A transaction interface is enhanced to identify the cassette as a source device for obtaining valuable media during a deposit transaction. The SST feeds the valuable media from the externally connected cassette through media validation and transport modules of the SST into cassettes of a safe and the SST returns rejected media for the deposit transaction back through the modules to return rejected media to the externally interfaced cassette.
REPLACEABLE STACK SHEET
A replaceable stack sheet replaceably provided in a medium integration/separation device to guide integration of a medium according to an embodiment includes a body which is coupled to a rotary shaft and in which a plurality of support shafts are spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction, and a plurality of sheet pieces having ends rotatably coupled to the plurality of support shafts.
Automated transaction machine
An automated transaction machine (ATM) can include a housing, a display, a cash recycler, and a check receiver. The display can be mounted to the housing and directed toward an exterior of the housing. The cash recycler can be configured to receive a first note of currency from a first user of the ATM and dispense the first note of currency to a subsequent, second user of the ATM. The check receiver can be positioned in the housing, an intake portion with an inlet communicating with the exterior of the housing, and a check reader portion configured to receive a check from the intake portion, scan data displayed on the check, and store the check. The intake portion can be positioned below the display and the check reader portion is positioned behind the display.
SMART CHAINING
Identification information is received at a transaction machine. The identification information is associated with a user associated with an account. Using an activity profile of the user, a determination is made to enable chained transactions during the user's use of the transaction machine. A sequence of user interfaces to display to the user is generated enabling the user to chain transactions based on the activity profile.
