A method for assigning a user profile of a user to a seat in a motor vehicle by at least one mobile unit, wherein the mobile unit has at least one identifier and a sensor arrangement for detecting at least one translational and/or rotational degree of freedom, wherein the mobile unit transmits the identifier to the motor vehicle, wherein the mobile unit or the motor vehicle evaluates the data from the sensor arrangement as to whether a boarding movement into a motor vehicle is occurring, wherein the motor vehicle or the mobile unit by the data of a door opening sensor arrangement, assigns the boarding movement to a seat assigned to a vehicle door, wherein the user profile is then assigned to the seat. Also disclosed is a mobile unit and a motor vehicle.

Inflight entertainment system that selects among passenger electronic devices for connection based on power measurements

An inflight entertainment system for use in an aircraft displays commands to a passenger to move a passenger electronic device (PED) between locations defined relative a seatback display device and the passenger's seat. The system measures received signal strength indications (RSSIs) from discoverable PEDs over time while the PED is moved between the locations, and selects one of the PEDs that satisfies a defined rule for an amount of change that is observed over time in the measured RSSIs for that PED. The system then establishes a connection through a Bluetooth transceiver with a Bluetooth transceiver of the selected PED.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EFFICIENT SEATING IN AMUSEMENT PARK VENUES

A system for providing seating guidance for an attraction ride vehicle of an amusement park attraction includes a computing device associated with a display, one or more processors of the computing device, and one or more memory devices of the computing device storing information about the attraction ride vehicle and storing instructions corresponding to a seating application. The seating application, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computing device to: provide an interface to receive seating input data for a guest or a group of guests, process the seating input data in combination with the information about the attraction ride vehicle based on seating logic to provide guidance data, and outputting guidance, based on the guidance data, for loading the guest or the group of guests onto the attraction ride vehicle via the display.

Method for guiding passengers

A method in conjunction with a passenger guidance system guides a passenger to a passenger seat disposed in a vehicle. In order to guide a passenger quickly and reliably to a passenger seat which corresponds to his needs and is disposed in a vehicle, and to improve the flow of passengers, it is proposed to determine occupation states of passenger seats of the vehicle and to guide the passenger to an unoccupied passenger seat. For carrying out the method, a passenger guidance system is proposed which has at least one device for determining the occupation state of passenger seats arranged in a vehicle, at least one evaluation device which is configured to determine a destination to which a passenger is to be guided, and a transmission device by which data which are suitable for indicating a path to the destination can be transmitted to at least one display device.

Apparatus and system for detecting equipment occupancy
10373448 · 2019-08-06 · ·

An apparatus (10) for detecting an occupancy of an equipment (12) by a person (14). A memory stores a status of the equipment as either occupied or unoccupied, and a predetermined acceleration limit value. An accelerometer unit communicates with the memory, and measures acceleration values of the equipment at discrete time intervals. The accelerometer unit compares each acceleration value to an acceleration limit value. If a consecutive number N of the acceleration values is greater than or equal to the acceleration limit value, the accelerometer unit generates a movement signal. A processor operates between an active mode when it receives the movement signal from the accelerometer unit, and an inactive mode. The processor in the active mode emits an occupied signal if the status of the equipment is unoccupied. A power source supplies electrical power to the accelerometer unit and to the processor.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method of predicting resource availability in a given time period by leveraging profile data associated with one or more users. The method includes analyzing historical use of a resource by the one or more users based on information included in records respectively associated with each user of the one or more of users. The method includes determining, based on the analysis, that one or more factors are likely predictors of use of the resource by the one or more users. The method includes predicting that there is a statistical likelihood that the one or more users will use the resource during a period of time, responsive to the determining of the one or more factors. The method includes sending, to a venue, a notification that indicates likely use of the resource by the at least one user during the given time period.
