A method for improving road safety of a vehicle in a system having a plurality of communicatively connected roadside units (RSUs) placed within a defined geographical area, each RSU configured to receive data from a plurality of sources located within its respective coverage area forming part of said defined geographical area and to at least transmit the received data and/or data derived from the received data to one or more data processing units located within its coverage area. The method has the steps of: receiving data defining an event E.sub.1 occurring within the coverage area of an event RSU; determining a type of the event E.sub.1; and based on the type of event E.sub.1, communicating data defining the event E.sub.1 or data related to the event E.sub.1 from the event RSU to one or more selected RSUs from remaining RSUs.

ROUTE OPTIMIZATION FOR VEHICLES

In some implementations, a route selection system obtains a first scheduled time for a first event at a venue for a passenger of an autonomous vehicle. The system determines whether the autonomous vehicle will arrive at the venue by the first scheduled time. The system obtains, in response to a determination that the autonomous vehicle will not arrive at the venue by the first scheduled time, a second scheduled time for a second event at the venue. The system determines a route to the venue based on one or more preferences of the passenger, one or more preferences of an operator of the autonomous vehicle, or any combination thereof, wherein the determined route is configured for arrival of the passenger at the venue after the first scheduled time and at or within a time period before the second scheduled time.

ROUTE OPTIMIZATION FOR VEHICLES

In some implementations, a route selection system obtains a first scheduled time for a first event at a venue for a passenger of an autonomous vehicle. The system determines whether the autonomous vehicle will arrive at the venue by the first scheduled time. The system obtains, in response to a determination that the autonomous vehicle will not arrive at the venue by the first scheduled time, a second scheduled time for a second event at the venue. The system determines a route to the venue based on one or more preferences of the passenger, one or more preferences of an operator of the autonomous vehicle, or any combination thereof, wherein the determined route is configured for arrival of the passenger at the venue after the first scheduled time and at or within a time period before the second scheduled time.

The present invention is adapted to the technical field of communication, and provides a stop announcement system and a method thereof. The stop announcement system comprises: at least one platform beacon disposed on at least one stop site of a transportation means for identifying a position message of the stop site, and sending a message of position change according to the position change of the transportation means relative to the stop site; and at least one stop announcement device disposed on the transportation means for receiving the message of position change and sending a corresponding stop announcement message when the transportation means moves into a range of a preset communication distance of the at least one platform beacon; wherein the stop announcement message at least comprises a prompt message of entering into the stop site and/or a prompt message of stopping on the stop site and/or a prompt message of leaving the stop site. By virtue of this, the present invention achieves timely and accurately stop announcement in operation of the transportation means.

An alerting system to be applied to a vehicle configured to execute driving assistance control based on a recognition result from a recognition sensor includes: one or more memories configured to store blind area information indicating a blind area around a recognition range recognized by the recognition sensor; and one or more processors configured to acquire a vehicle condition including at least one of a vehicle speed, or a door open or closed state of the vehicle, start a rendering process for rendering the blind area on a road surface around the vehicle in response to satisfaction of a start condition by the vehicle condition, and execute the rendering process by using a light emitting device.
