A method of configuring a smart booklet to encourage adherence to a treatment and/or educational program is disclosed, wherein the smart booklet is “off the grid” (e.g., not connected to an electrical or networking grid) and includes an integrated behavior incentivization feature. Based on an activation of a detection feature of the smart booklet, it is detected whether a state of one or more pages of the smart booklet has changed. Based on the determination that the state of the one or more pages has changed, a set of data items pertaining to the adherence to the treatment and/or educational program is created or updated. Based on an identification that the set of data items is indicative of a failure or a success with respect to the adherence to the treatment program, a message pertaining to the failure or the success is communicated via an output component of the smart booklet (e.g., to encourage the adherence to the treatment and/or educational program).

Systems and methods for real-time user verification in online education are disclosed. In certain example embodiments, user identifying information associated with a user and a request to access online education content may be received from a user device. A face template including historical facial image data for the user can be identified. Current facial image data can be compared to the face template to determine if a match exists. Biometric sensor data, such as heart rate data, may also be received for the user. The biometric sensor data may be evaluated to determine if the user is currently located at the user device. If the user is currently located at the user device and the current facial image data matches the face template, access to the online education content may be provided to the user at the user device.

Methods, systems and apparatus for identifying and utilizing content synchronization information are described. Methods for creating and utilizing a synchronization file that can be used to notify users when synchronization availability exists, and to identify ways to repair synchronization unavailability are described. The synchronization file includes a complete set of individual content elements that make up a content item, such as a book, where each content element has an indication whether play-back of an audio version of the content item can be synchronized with the presentation of a corresponding text version of the content item. Methods, systems and apparatus are also disclosed for providing the synchronization availability information to the user in a manner that enables the user to increase the benefits of synchronized presentation of the content item.

The processor may compare scoring matrices of each e-book of the plurality of e-books. The processor may identify two or more e-books having similar scoring matrices. The processor may provide a recommendation to a user based on the identified two or more e-books.
