The method is: determining, by the display system of the terminal device, a start moment of a first procedure in an (M+1).sup.th Vsync period according to first processing duration of the first procedure in an M.sup.th Vsync period, so that the display system starts to execute a device display procedure before starting to execute the first procedure, the display system delays executing the first procedure in the (M+1).sup.th Vsync period, so that a time required for processing three procedures in parallel in the (M+1).sup.th Vsync period by the display system is reduced, and CPU power consumption of the terminal device is reduced.

Systems, methods, and computer readable media to improve the operation of a computer's display system are described. In general, techniques are disclosed for retaining glyph-mask information for text associated with a region that may be arbitrarily moved across a screen. More particularly, techniques disclosed herein utilize an additional off-screen buffer referred to as the glyph-mask buffer. The glyph-mask buffer coincides with an existing side buffer in extent, but is used only to retain anti-aliased glyph information (i.e., glyph-masks). When the side buffer's content is updated, the effect of that update on the region's text may be reflected in an update to the glyph-mask buffer. At display time, the region corresponding to the side buffer, and the text therein, may be properly rendered at any screen location by combining the screen's target display area (background), the side buffer and the glyph-mask buffer.

Electro-optic displays displaying in dark mode and light mode, and related apparatus and methods

This invention provides methods of and related apparatus for driving an electro-optic display having a plurality of pixels to display white text on a black background (dark mode) while reducing edge artifacts, ghosting and flashy updates. The present invention reduces the accumulation of edge artifacts by applying a special waveform transition to edge regions according to an algorithm along with methods to manage the DC imbalance introduced by the special transition. Edge artifact clearing may be achieved by identifying specific edge pixels to receive a special transition called an inverted top-off pulse (iTop Pulse) and, since the iTop Pulse is DC imbalanced, to subsequently discharge remnant voltage from the display. This invention further provides methods of and related apparatus for driving an electro-optic display having a plurality of pixels to display white text on a black background (dark mode) while reducing the appearance of ghosting due to edge artifacts and flashy updates by identifying specific edge pixels to receive a special transition called an inverted Full Pulse transition (iFull Pulse).
