System and method for foldable display
As described herein, there is provided methods, apparatus and computer program products to display visual information on a foldable display device. Display control signals are altered or modified to avoid display of or compensate for impairment in the display of visual information on fold deformations introduced in a display unit of the display device in response to folding of the display unit, or to reverse any alterations or modifications in the event that the fold deformations are eliminated by unfolding of the display unit.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DYNAMICALLY CONTROLLING PRIVACY OF A DISPLAY SCREEN
A user device having dynamic control of the privacy and brightness of a display sof a user device is described. The user device includes a processor that obtains information indicating whether a change to the brightness and/or viewing angle of the display is desired. In response to instructions from the processor requesting a change to the brightness and/or privacy of the display, a controller connected to the processor increases or decreases the display brightness and/or viewing angle by controlling a backlight included in the display.
Image display apparatus and control method therefor
An image display apparatus includes a light-emitting unit, a display unit configured to modulate light from the light-emitting unit, a light-emission control unit configured to control light emission of the light-emitting unit, a display control unit configured to execute display processing for displaying images for calibration in order, an acquiring unit configured to acquire a measurement value of light emitted from a region, of a screen, where the image for calibration is displayed, and a calibrating unit configured to execute a calibration on the basis of measurement values of the images, wherein when a light emission state of the light-emitting unit changes during the execution of the display processing, the display control unit executes the display processing again.
Variable hue task lamp with novel hue selection component
A variable hue task lamp with novel hue selection component is disclosed herein. The color and intensity of a task lamp is adjusted using a wireless connection from a device such as a smart phone, tablet, or computing device based upon an optimization method using a sample text or scene. The user first optimizes hue by adjusting the background color of the sample text or picture on the device. The optimum hue is then communicated to the task light, which sets light emitting diode intensities to match the optimum choice. Presets further localize choices in color space, and a comparison to white verifies the benefits of the chosen hue.
LUMINESCENCE SHOCK AVOIDANCE IN DISPLAY DEVICES
A luminescence shock avoidance algorithm selectively limits the brightness level of a display device when the display device is activated in a dark environment to prevent the temporary vision impairment that can occur when a display device is activated in a dark environment. The algorithm receives the state of the display (e.g. on or in standby mode), and can optionally receive an ambient lighting value from an ambient light sensor and a user-selectable manual brightness adjustment setting to determine whether luminescence shock avoidance should even be triggered, and if it is triggered, how much should the brightness level of the display be limited.
Color reproduction method, color reproduction system, color reproduction program, and color reproduction apparatus
A method comprising: applying color correction to colors in a first color gamut; displaying, on color space, the second color gamut and color gamut in which the correction is applied to the first color gamut so as to make it possible to distinguish between colors constituting the first color gamut that are determined to be inside of the second color gamut and colors constituting the first color gamut that are determined to be outside of the second color gamut; selecting colors in colors outside of the displayed second color gamut; displaying an interface; determining a correction amount of the selected color in conjunction with the interface; when the selected color is on surface/inside of the second color gamut, displaying that the selected color is on surface/inside of the second color gamut; and applying the correction and generating color conversion information for converting the first color gamut into the second color gamut.
Video processing apparatus, video processing method, and program
There is provided a video processing apparatus, method, and program to enable electro optical transfer processing on video data to be suitably performed. The video processing apparatus includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire video data obtained by performing high dynamic range optical electro transfer on high dynamic range video data, a processing unit configured to perform processing including electro optical transfer on the acquired video data and obtains display video data, and a control unit. In the processing unit, the characteristic of the electro optical transfer is set to a characteristic corresponding to characteristic information of optical electro transfer associated with the acquired video data. The control unit is configured to switch the characteristic of the electro optical transfer in the processing unit in accordance with a selection operation of a user.
Head-mounted display with user-operated control
A system, such as a head-mounted display (HMD), displays images to a user. The system has an active state and an idle state. The system includes a display device, a beam combiner, and a user-operated control. The display device displays images when the system is in the active state and emits a reduced amount or no light when the system is in the idle state. The beam combiner provides a first optical path for light from an external environment to the user's eye and also provides a second optical path for light emitted from the display device to the user's eye. Responsive to activation by the user, the control switches the system between states that include the active state and the idle state, where the idle state is a default state and the system remains in the active state only while the user-operated control remains activated by the user.
Method and apparatus for controlling brightness of display, and terminal device
Methods and apparatuses for controlling brightness of a display are disclosed in the present disclosure. One method includes: determining a first brightness value of a display at a current brightness adjustment level; determining, based on a gamma correction lookup table, a first input grayscale value corresponding to the first brightness value, wherein the gamma correction lookup table comprises a gamma correction relationship between a brightness value of the display and an initial input grayscale value of the display at a predetermined brightness adjustment levels; and controlling an output brightness value of the display based on the first input grayscale value.
Screen brightness adjustment method and apparatus, and storage medium
A screen brightness adjustment method includes: determining a direction of brightness adjustment based on a screen brightness adjustment instruction, and controlling a brightness level of a screen and a grayscale parameter of an image displayed on the screen based on the direction of brightness adjustment, such that brightness of the screen is adjusted to target brightness desired by the screen brightness adjustment instruction.
