Systems and methods for graphics adjustment based on output resolution
A graphics adjustment system detects the video resolution of digital video to be output by a receiving device and saves the graphics settings input by the user when the user adjusts the graphics settings on the receiving device such that the digital video being presented in the presentation device is not cut off due to overscanning. The system saves the graphics adjustment settings as the setting to use going forward for digital video of that same resolution for that particular presentation device. In this manner, the digital video output from the receiving device will not be cut off when presented on the presentation device, even when the receiving device is switching between receiving digital video programming of different resolutions from various program distributors and/or the content providers.

Electronic device and method for controlling display thereof
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a plurality of displays, a memory configured to store applications and parameters associated with execution screens of the applications, and a processor which is electrically connected with the plurality of displays and the memory. The processor is configured to, when at least one application of the applications is executed, obtain a first parameter associated with a first execution screen of the at least one application and a second parameter associated with a second execution screen of the at least one application from the memory, and to output the first execution screen in one of the plurality of displays based on the first parameter and output the second execution screen in another of the plurality of displays based on the second parameter.
Display apparatus and a method of driving the same
A display apparatus including: a display panel configured to display an image based on input image data; a data driver configured to output a data voltage to the display panel; and a driving controller configured to determine a driving frequency of the display panel based on flicker values for grayscale values of the input image data and output a driving frequency signal representing the driving frequency of the display panel to a host.
Display driving IC and operating method thereof
An operating method of a display driving integrated circuit (DDIC) includes correcting first image data using correction data in a first operating mode. The first image data is received from a processor via an interface, and the correction data is stored in a first memory included in the DDIC. The method further includes storing second image data received from the processor in the first memory in response to a mode switching signal controlling the DDIC to switch to a second operating mode, and displaying the second image data on a display panel in the second operating mode.
Methods and apparatus to manage display luminance
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to manage display luminance, for the purpose of power efficiency, halo reduction, and flicker prevention. An example apparatus includes a backlight analyzer to determine a first baseline luminance level associated with a first segment of a backlight of a screen of a display device based on pixel data defining a frame of content to be displayed via the screen and to determine a second baseline luminance level associated with a second segment of the backlight different than the first segment based on the pixel data, a segment-pair ratio analyzer to determine a segment-pair luminance ratio between the first and second segments based on the first and second baseline luminance levels, and a luminance controller to adjust an amount of power provided to at least one of the first segment of the backlight or the second segment of the backlight when the segment-pair luminance ratio satisfies a threshold.
Display apparatus and method of controlling the same
A display apparatus includes a communication circuitry configured to communicate with an external device; a display; and a controller configured to perform pairing with the external device, to control the communication circuitry to receive an image around the display apparatus captured by the external device from the paired external device, to apply a plurality of colors selected based on color data of the plurality of colors extracted from the received image, to a plurality of predetermined regions, to generate an image based on the plurality of regions to which the selected plurality of colors are applied, and to control the display to display the generated image.
Content output apparatus and content output method
A content output apparatus includes a management unit configured to manage preference information relating to a preference regarding content and mode information relating to an output mode of content, a content decision unit configured to decide content to be output, based on the preference information or independently of the preference information, a mode decision unit configured to decide an output mode of the decided content based on the mode information, an output unit configured to output the decided content, in the decided output mode, and an acquisition unit configured to acquire a reaction of a user to the output content. The management unit changes the mode information, if the reaction of the user is negative and the output content is content decided independently of the preference information.
Display Module, and Virtual Image Location Adjustment Method and Apparatus
A display module for a head-mounted display device includes a display assembly, an optical imaging assembly, and a virtual image location adjustment assembly. The display assembly is configured to display an image. The optical imaging assembly is configured to form a virtual image based on the image. The virtual image location adjustment assembly is configured to adjust at least one of the optical imaging assembly and the display assembly to adjust the virtual image to a target location. The virtual image location adjustment assembly adjusts the optical imaging assembly and/or the display assembly.
DEPTH BASED FOVEATED RENDERING FOR DISPLAY SYSTEMS
Methods and systems for depth-based foveated rendering in the display system are disclosed. The display system may be an augmented reality display system configured to provide virtual content on a plurality of depth planes using different wavefront divergence. Some embodiments include determining a fixation point of a user's eyes. Location information associated with a first virtual object to be presented to the user via a display device is obtained. A resolution-modifying parameter of the first virtual object is obtained. A particular resolution at which to render the first virtual object is identified based on the location information and the resolution-modifying parameter of the first virtual object. The particular resolution is based on a resolution distribution specifying resolutions for corresponding distances from the fixation point. The first virtual object rendered at the identified resolution is presented to the user via the display system.
