The invention relates to the field of plucked string musical instruments, specifically to designs of electric musical instruments which transform mechanical vibration of strings into electrical signals, more particularly to compact electronic guitars, and can be used in portable electronic guitars. The application of the invention claimed allows to create a compact electronic guitar that can be quickly assembled/disassembled, while the string elasticity level remains the same in both disassembled and assembled states (making the guitar immediately available for use once the parts of the body have been connected) and to provide the possibility to obtain information about vibrations and excursions of the strings located on the neck occurring as a result of using various playing techniques requiring certain actions to be taken in relation to the strings located on the neck, such as hitting, displacing the pressed string sideward, sudden pressing down of the string and sudden releasing of the pressed string, moving the finger along the string, either pressed or not. This provides the possibility to use a larger number of events occurring with the string to generate acoustic oscillations.

Providing a headstock, neck, core assembly, upper body, lower body, and control module. Attaching the headstock to the to the neck by sliding the headstock sideways into to neck via a dovetail joint. Attaching the neck to the core assembly via a tapered trapezoidal block on the neck which slides into a trapezoidal hole on the core assembly. A foldable stringed instrument having a neck and/or body that may assume a reduced profile by folding an upper neck portion away from the playing position through the use of a translating bridge assembly and a translating truss assembly, wherein the foldable stringed instrument is capable of housing or otherwise being coupled to any of a variety of electronics or electrical components (e.g. a smart phone or tablet computer) having one or more applications (apps) for driving the operation, functionality and/or effects associated with the foldable stringed instrument.

Provided is a modular string instrument including a core string instrument and interchangeable instrument body types. Provided is a modular string instrument including a core string instrument and interchangeable instrument body types. A detachable neck guitar assembly for selectively positioning strings of a guitar includes a body and a neck. The body defines an interior space. A first coupler is coupled to the body and is positioned in the interior space equally distant from upper bouts of the body. A second coupler is coupled to the neck. The second coupler is complementary to the first coupler and is positioned to selectively couple to the first coupler to pivotally couple the neck to the body. The first coupler and the second coupler comprise a biaser. The biaser is positioned both to selectively pivot and to fixedly position the neck relative to the body. Stings that are coupled to and extend between the neck and the body are selectively positionable relative to a fret board is coupled to the neck.

A portable, modular guitar platform enables guitarists to explore the potential of their instrument by allowing a user to mix and match many different functional modules, including modules handmade by a luthier or other skilled artisan. The design accommodates many options for customization, may use off-the-shelf components, is highly portable, and can be made from a variety of materials. The arrangement enhances ease of maintenance, and reduces waste from defective components in manufacturing. While the preferred embodiment captures the standard functionality of an electric guitar in a collapsible and customizable package, the modular nature of the platform allows for the expansion of this functionality. Any number of other technologies, electronic or mechanical, may be incorporated to expand the functionality of the platform in practice, performance, and recording contexts.

Exemplary embodiments of packable stringed instruments, such as upright basses, are disclosed. The exemplary embodiments include a segmented body portion, a neck portion, and a head portion, wherein respective segments of the segmented body portion are removably secured to each other and the neck portion. The segmented body portion may include, for example, an upper body (UB) portion, a lower body (LB) portion, and a central body portion. The neck portion may be separable from the head portion. The various components of the packable stringed instrument are complimentarily shaped so as to be condensed for storage and/or transport. Exemplary methods for disassembling and assembling the exemplary packable stringed instruments are also disclosed.

Disclosed is a guitar with a replaceable soundbox. The guitar with a replaceable soundbox according to the present invention comprises: a soundbox; a neck having a neck hill that protrudes therefrom and is detachably coupled to one side of the soundbox, and having a plurality of strings disposed to hold chords in accordance with a scale and harmony; a bridge detachably coupled to the soundbox such that one end of the plurality of strings is fixed; a playing part including a head extended to the neck such that the other end of the plurality of strings is fixed; and an adjustment part, coupled on the head, for adjusting the tension of the plurality of strings to increase or decrease.

A neck joint for an electric guitar, comprising an elongated protrusion with rounded corners fitting into a similar-shaped pocket with similarly rounded corners, which creates a strong enough connection between the neck and the body that the neck no longer requires a heel, improving the range of the guitar and the sound of the instrument.
