OUTDOOR MUSHROOM INSTRUMENTS
The present disclosure relates to outdoor musical instruments configured to replicate the appearance of a mushroom and to withstand prolonged exposure to the environment. The musical instrument is made up of at least a metal dish mounted to a weather-resistant support post. The metal dish is mounted to the top of the support post, and the bottom surface of the metal dish is separated from the top end of the support post by a non-metal isolator. The musical instrument is configured to produce a note that sustains when the top surface of the metal dish is struck by a mallet.

A noisemaker that produces sound when played. The noisemaker includes a body component comprising side portions assembled together to form a three-dimensional configuration with an interior space. One or more side portions include one or more aperture elements that open to the interior space. Within the interior space reside one or more core components that are each configured to move freely within the body component while not escaping through the aperture element. The aperture element and the core component are cooperatively designed to maintain the core component within the body component while the noisemaker is played by being struck, scraped, or rubbed.
Reinforced solid wood block idiophone
A solid wood block idiophone having slit reinforcement plates mounted against the sides of the idiophone's wood block is described. Advantageously, the reinforcement plates act to increase the durability of the wood having one or more open faced resonant chambers with chamber sidewall slits by preventing the wood from fracturing to and from the open woodgrain ends terminated at the sidewall slits.
