Portable acoustical road barrier
A portable acoustic road barrier for use with a road divider is disclosed comprising a frame having a lower horizontal panel frame portion, a first and a second vertical panel frame portion and an upper horizontal panel frame portion. A first and a second mount from the frame for removably securing the frame to the road divider. A sheet of acoustical blocking material is secured to the panel frame portions. The sheet of acoustical blocking material is flexible for enabling the sheet of acoustical blocking material and reinforcing tape to be rolled as a single unit for transportation.

ACOUSTIC PANEL FOR NOISE ATTENUATION
An acoustic attenuation structure includes a periodic structure having a first unit cell, the first unit cell having a first central body and a first axial tube disposed on the first central body and a second axial tube disposed on the first central body, opposite the first axial tube, each of the first axial tube and the second axial tube being in fluid communication with one another through the first central body.
FREQUENCY-SELECTIVE SIGNAL DAMPER CONTAINING GELATIN AND CHITOSAN HYDROGEL, AND A DEVICE MEASURING SIGNAL USING THE SAME
Disclosed is a frequency-selective signal damper including: a viscous polymer exhibiting non-Newtonian fluid behavior; and hydrogel exhibiting sol-gel phase transition. The viscous polymer exhibits shear thinning in a damping region or a noise region, and the hydrogel has a sol phase in the damping region or the noise region. The viscous polymer is gelatin, and the hydrogel is chitosan.
Temporary noise pollution interruption wall system and method
A noise barrier system and method for quickly and modularly installing or erecting a temporary sound interruption wall. The system can include one or more panels each, a leveling bracket adjustably mountable to a support member, a clamping bracket for mounting a panel to a support member, a double clamping bracket for clamping a pair of panels together and mounting them to a support member, and a panel clamp for clamping a pair of panels together. The leveling bracket can include a support wall to support portions of adjacent panels, and an arm for removably securing to a flange of the support member. The panel clamp, the clamping bracket and the double clamping bracket can each include open channel configuration configured to receive a single portion of a panel or portions of pair panels, and a slidably adjustable clip for securing the portion of the panels therein.

Phononic composite material with internal resonant phases
A phononic composite material providing structural strength and blocking the propagation of elastic waves over a frequency range referred to as the bandgap. In one embodiment, the phononic composite material consists of a plurality of periodic units, each of which includes a central fiber, a relatively soft interface layer surrounding the fiber, and a matrix layer surrounding the interface layer. The properties of the interface layer may be adjusted, e.g., by adjusting the temperature of the phononic composite material, to transition from a state with a bandgap to a state lacking a bandgap.
