SMOOTH TRANSITION OF VIDEO PLAYBACK WITH PAGE FLIP ANIMATION
20170220216 · 2017-08-03 ·

A computer implemented method enables smooth transition of video playback with page flip action within a digital magazine. The method comprises steps of monitoring a user's interactions with a video content item displayed on a current page of the digital magazine. Upon detecting a user flipping the current page to a next page, the video content item is paused, a graphics resource used for rending the video content item is disabled and a current video frame of the video content item is captured. In response to the user flipping the current page to the next page, the graphics resource is enabled for rending the page flip action, a modified current page with portions of the next page are gradually displayed to the user, while the captured video frame is continuously displayed on the current page until the page flip action is finished.

MULTIPLE TAPE VIDEO DATA SPLITTER

An approach, for storing video data in a plurality of tape media via a ring buffer. A tape data splitter receives video data stored in a ring buffer. The tape data splitter writes the video data to a current tape media. The tape data splitter detects an end of tape media event. The tape data splitter responds to the end of tape media event, by switching the current tape media to a next tape media. The tape data splitter selects a resume point for the video data stored in the ring buffer and writes to the next tape media, the video data stored in the ring buffer that is subsequent to the resume point.

ENHANCED DYNAMIC BRAKING ALGORITHM FOR TAPE STORAGE DEVICE

According to at least one embodiment, a method, a computer system, and a computer program product for enhanced dynamic braking of a tape storage device during a loss of power is provided. The present invention may include identifying a direction in which tape is moving; identifying a position of the tape; setting brake/coast conditions, wherein the brake/coast conditions comprise a BrakeSelect value of a supply reel and a BrakeSelect value of a take-up reel, based on the identified direction in which the tape is moving and the identified position of the tape; and based upon a detection of a loss of power, applying the set brake/coast conditions to the supply reel and the take-up reel.

When displaying a plurality of reduced content items corresponding to original content items in a list, reduced content corresponding to original content being reproduced on an external video reproduction device is displayed in a second display mode different from a first display mode for other reduced content items. An instruction to perform a predetermined process on original content related to the reduced content displayed in the second display mode is accepted in response to a user operation on the reduced content. An identifier of the reduced content and the instruction to perform the predetermined process on the original content associated with the identifier are transmitted to an external device.
