A system includes a read/write module and a caching module. The read/write module is configured to access a first portion of a recording surface of a rotating storage device. Data is stored on the first portion of the recording surface of the rotating storage device at a first density. The caching module is configured to cache data on a second portion of the recording surface of the rotating storage device at a second density. The second portion of the recording surface of the rotating storage device is separate from the first portion of the recording surface of the rotating storage device. The second density is less than the first density.
PLAYING APPARATUS, PLAYING METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
The present technology relates to a playing apparatus, a playing method, an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a program, and a recording medium that allow playing of appropriate HDR videos. A playing apparatus in an aspect of the present technology has a storage unit that has regions for storing a plurality of units of information indicating the state of the playing apparatus including preference information indicating the type of an HDR video to be preferentially played, out of a first HDR video that is essential in including in a content an HDR video as a video in a wider brightness range than a standard brightness range and a second HDR video that is capable of being included in the content. The playing apparatus acquires encoded data of the HDR video to be preferentially played indicated by the preference information, out of encoded data of the first HDR video and encoded data of the second HDR video, and decodes the acquired encoded data. The present technology is applicable to Blu-ray disc players.
Reproduction device, reproduction method, and recording medium that display graphics based on tone mapping
The present technology relates to a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a recording medium capable of displaying graphics with a broader dynamic range of luminance and appropriate brightness. The reproduction device reads a Tone_map stream and a graphics stream of an extended graphics from a recording device, wherein the recording device records the Tone_map stream including HDR information indicating a luminance feature of the extended graphics which are first graphics with a first luminance range different from and broader than a second luminance range, and a luminance conversion definition information used in luminance conversion from the extended graphics to standard graphics. The standard graphics are graphics with the second luminance range. The reproduction device converts the extended graphics into the standard graphics based on the luminance conversion definition information of the extended graphics included in the Tone map stream.
Custom audio messages for packaged goods
Systems and methods are described to enable the inclusion of customized audio messages into packages for physical items. Specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure enable a user, in connection with an order to physical items, to record an audio message (e.g., a gift message) to be played back on the opening of a package including the physical items. The recorded audio message can be encoded into audio data at a user computing device and transmitted over a network to a fulfillment processing system associated with the order. The fulfillment processing system can encode the audio data into a playback device included within a package of the ordered items. The playback device may include one or more sensors (such as mechanical switches, light sensors, etc.) that notify the playback device when the package is opened. The playback device can then output the audio message to a receiving party.
VOICE RECORDING DEVICE AND VOICE RECORDING CONTROL METHOD
A voice recording device that connects/is connected to a network, comprising a voice recording circuit that acquires voice and records the acquired voice as a voice file, a transmission circuit that transmits the voice file to a network, and a control circuit, the control circuit including an information extraction section that extracts associated information that has been associated with the voice file, and a display that displays the associated information associated with a voice data file.
Systems and methods for recording haptic data for use with multi-media data
A system includes a recorder configured to record audio and/or video of a subject of interest and output a recording of the subject of interest and a non-contact sensor associated with the recorder. The non-contact sensor is constructed and arranged to measure movement and/or vibration of the subject of interest from substantially the same perspective and at the same time as the recorder. The system includes a controller configured to transform the measured movement and/or vibration of the subject of interest measured by the non-contact sensor into a tactile data stream for sending to a haptic display device for playback with the recording of the subject of interest by the recorder and providing haptic effects corresponding to the measured movement and/or vibration to a user of the haptic display device in synchronization with the recording.
APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC DEVICE, SYSTEM, METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR CAPTURING AUDIO SIGNALS
An apparatus, method and computer program, the apparatus comprising: processing circuitry; and memory circuitry including computer program code, the memory circuitry and the computer program code configured to, with the processing circuitry, enable the apparatus to: enable a wireless connection to be established with an electronic device; capture an audio signal and enable the captured audio signal to be sent to the electronic device using the wireless connection to enable the captured audio signal to be used to create an enhanced audio signal; and wherein the apparatus is arranged to be removeably attachable to the electronic device.
Managing Input/Output Operations for Shingled Magnetic Recording in a Storage System
A system and method for improving the management of data input and output (I/O) operations for Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) devices in a network storage system is disclosed. The storage system includes a storage controller that receives a series of write requests for data blocks to be written to non-sequential addresses within a pool of SMR devices. The storage controller writes the data blocks from the series of write requests to a corresponding sequence of data clusters allocated within a first data cache of the storage controller for a thinly provisioned volume of the pool of SMR devices. Upon determining that a current utilization of the first data cache's data storage capacity exceeds a threshold, the sequence of data clusters including the data blocks from the first data cache are transferred to sequential physical addresses within the SMR devices.
Method and apparatus for voice recording and playback
Methods and apparatuses are provided for controlling an electronic device that includes a plurality of microphones configured to receive voice input, a storage unit configured to store a sound recording file, and a display unit configured to visually display speaker areas of individual speakers when recording a sound or playing a sound recording file. The electronic device also includes a control unit configured to provide a user interface relating a speaker direction to a speaker by identifying the speaker direction while recording the sound or performing playback of the sound recording file, and to update at least one of speaker information, direction information of a speaker, and distance information of the speaker through the user interface.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An information processing device (1) includes a plurality of buffers (52) and a file recording processing unit (53). Different pieces of buffer data (BD) are accumulated in the plurality of buffers (52). The file recording processing unit (53) secures two or more consecutive allocation units (AU) included in a recording medium as a ring buffer (54).
