Aerosol generator
An aerosol generator device has an elongate body with an interior passageway extending longitudinally to its mouth end. The device receives an interchangeable, pressurized canister charged with a nicotine containing liquid that is discharged in a metered dose on manual actuation of a button member that causes a valve in the canister to open and discharge through a discharge tube. A sleeve releasably couples the canister to the body. The button member is slidably mounted on the body for reciprocal movement along a trigger axis Y-Y′ extending transversely of the longitudinal axis X-X′ of the device, and has a manually depressible surface portion and a camming surface portion that drives a slidable nozzle member to press the discharge tube inwardly of the canister to open its valve and release liquid into the nozzle member. Nozzle forms an aerosol from the liquid, which is delivered to the consumer through outlets in the mouth end of the device.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING AN INHALER ARTICLE
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an inhaler article, the inhaler article comprising a body, a capsule cavity holding a capsule, a mouthpiece element and a deformable tubular element having an open distal end, the method comprising pre-treating the distal end of the deformable tubular element to obtain a pre-treated portion with reduced structural stability, and folding the pre-treated portion inwards by at least 90 degrees to at least partially close the distal end. The invention relates also to a device for manufacturing an inhaler article and to an inhaler article obtainable by the device.
STABLE-FOAM INHALATION DEVICE AND CARTRIDGE
A battery-operated foam inhalation device which comprises a cartridge (610) having a liquid for producing a foam and a foam outlet (654). Agitation means agitates the liquid to produce the foam, and the agitation means comprises an electric motor (762) and a battery (760) for energising the electric motor (762). A carrier (672) receives the cartridge (610) and has a carrier foam inlet (680) for fluid communication with the foam outlet (654) of the cartridge (610). A carrier foam outlet (682) dispenses the foam to a user.
Method of assembling a simulated cigarette
A method of assembling a tubular simulated cigarette, the method comprising providing an elongate hollow housing having an inhaling end and a refill end; inserting an outlet valve tube, a dip tube and a support from the refill end so that the support supports the proximal end of the dip tube in the housing; inserting a refill valve into the refill end and fixing it in place to form a composition reservoir with the dip tube placing the reservoir in fluid communication with an outlet orifice when the outlet valve tube is open; inserting a valve element into a recess in the side of the housing so that the valve element is positioned to selectively close the outlet valve tube; inserting a breath operated valve actuation mechanism laterally into the recess; and applying a cover to the recess.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AND TESTING A SIMULATED CIGARETTE
A method of assembling and testing a simulated cigarette. Assembling the simulated cigarette to have an elongate main body containing a reservoir for an inhalable composition, a breath operated valve, and a refill valve. Testing the integrity of the reservoir requires applying a pressured gas to open the refill valve to pressurise the reservoir, measuring the pressure drop in the reservoir, and providing a pass indication if the pressure drop remains below a predetermined threshold. It also requires testing the breath operated valve by applying suction at an inhaling end, measuring the flow rate from the cigarette and providing a pass indication if the flow rate falls outside a predetermined limit.
System comprising a simulated cigarette device and a refill unit
A simulated smoking device (1) comprising a simulated cigarette having a substantially cylindrical cigarette-like shape and a refill device (2, 50) having a substantially cuboid housing with a cigarette pack-like shape containing refill gas (32, 59) for the simulated cigarette and having means for selectively retaining the simulated cigarette. The simulated cigarette may be retained wholly within the housing. It may be retained at a location different from the refill location. A dose counter may be provided to give a visual indication of the doses in the refill device.
DEVICE WITH COMPOSITIONS FOR DELIVERY TO THE LUNGS, THE ORAL MUCOSA AND THE BRAIN
The present invention provides a passive inhaler for use in treating a number of diseases. The inventor has shown that the compositions comprised in the inhaler can be delivered to the lungs and to the brain in pharmacological relevant dosages, to treat a number of diseases in the lungs and the brain. Further, the inhaler is also able to deliver substances to the brain which may enhance transport across the blood brain barrier.
Inhaler article with occluded airflow element
An inhaler article includes a tubular housing defining a holder body extending along a longitudinal axis from a mouthpiece end to a consumable receiving end. The holder body includes an inner tube extending along the longitudinal axis and within the tubular housing from a tube intake end to a tube exhaust end. The tube intake end is proximate the consumable receiving end. The inner tube defines an air flow lumen with two or more air flow apertures extending through a wall of the inner tube. An air blocking feature is positioned in the air flow lumen and between two of the air flow apertures. A vibration inducing element disposed on the inner tube proximate to the tube exhaust end or the tube intake end, the vibration inducing element comprises an aperture through the wall of the inner tube and having a tapered or angled downstream aperture edge.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLAVOR SOURCE AND PACKAGE
A method for producing a flavor source that supports an inhaling flavor component contained in a tobacco raw material, comprises: step A of performing an alkali treatment on the tobacco raw material; and step B of arranging an alkali-treated tobacco raw material and a flavor base material configured by non-tobacco material within a same space in such a way that the alkali-treated tobacco raw material and the flavor base material are maintained in a non-contacting state, thereby inducing the flavor base material to support the inhaling flavor component emitted as a vapor phase from the tobacco raw material.
