Portable surface cleaning apparatus

A portable surface cleaning apparatus, such as a hand vacuum cleaner, having a cyclone and a cleaner body, wherein a pre-motor filter is positioned in the air flow passage upstream from the suction motor and, when the cyclone and the cleaner body are separated, the pre-motor filter remains in position and access to the pre-motor filter is provided.

Surface cleaning apparatus

A hand vacuum cleaner has a cyclone unit and a pistol grip handle. The cyclone unit comprises a cyclone chamber with a cyclone axis of rotation extending between the front and rear ends of the cyclone chamber. When the hand vacuum cleaner is oriented with the cyclone axis of rotation extending horizontally, the inlet conduit is located at a lower side of the hand vacuum cleaner, the pistol grip handle is provided on a lower side of the main body and the pistol grip handle extends upwardly from a lower end of the pistol grip handle to an upper end of the pistol grip handle.

A robot cleaner includes a cleaner body, a suction unit, and a cyclone unit. The cyclone unit has a first suction opening and a second suction opening for sucking air, and a first cyclone and a second cyclone for passing air therethrough, the air having dust filtered therefrom by a centrifugal force. A first guiding member and a second guiding member extend upwardly from the suction unit toward the cyclone unit with an inclination angle, the first guiding member for connection between the suction unit and the first suction opening, and the second guiding member for connection between the suction unit and the second suction opening. A dust box communicated with a dust discharge opening is provided at a front side of the cyclone unit so as to collect dust filtered by the cyclone unit. The dust box is partially or wholly accommodated between the first and second guiding members.

A surface cleaning apparatus has a cyclone chamber provided in an air flow path. The cyclone chamber has a screen assembly with an outlet section, a longitudinally spaced apart distal section and a longitudinally extending porous section. The outlet section includes a non-porous member extending longitudinally inwardly an outlet section length from an outlet end of the outlet section to a longitudinally inwardly positioned inlet end of the outlet section. The outlet end of the outlet section overlies a cyclone air outlet. The porous section extends longitudinally inwardly from an outlet end of the porous section that is located at the inlet end of the outlet section. The outlet section length is at least as long as the cyclone outlet port length.

VACUUM CLEANER

An autonomous vacuum cleaner includes an outer housing, a suction nozzle, and a suction motor and a fan assembly operable to generate an airflow through the vacuum cleaner from the suction nozzle through a debris separator to a clean air exhaust. A fan of the fan assembly is rotatable about an axis of rotation of the suction motor and the fan assembly. The debris separator includes a cyclonic separator operable to separate debris from the airflow, the cyclonic separator located within the housing and includes a cylindrical wall along a longitudinal axis and having a first end and a second end, a dirty air inlet, a clean air outlet, a debris outlet adjacent the second end of the cylindrical wall, and a dust bin in fluid communication with the debris outlet of the cyclonic separator, where the cyclonic separator is coaxial with the motor and fan assembly.

DIRT CUP LATCH MECHANISM FOR VACUUM CLEANER

A latch mechanism for selectively fastening a dirt cup to a vacuum cleaner having a locking recess. The latch mechanism can include a latch member having a portion that is selectively received in the locking recess and a latch actuator comprising a button. When the latch mechanism is actuated, the latch member is moved from a latched position in which the portion of the latch member is received within the locking recess to an unlatched position in which the portion of the latch member is removed from the locking recess, thereby allowing the dirt cup to be removed from the vacuum cleaner.

VACUUM CLEANER HAVING CYCLONIC SEPARATOR

A vacuum cleaner including a debris separator that includes a housing, a cyclonic separator including a cylindrical wall having a first end and a second end. The cylindrical wall is located in within the housing and the cyclonic separator further includes a dirty air inlet, a clean air outlet, a debris outlet adjacent the second end, and a longitudinal axis surrounded by the cylindrical wall and the longitudinal axis of the cyclonic separator extends in generally a horizontal orientation. The debris separator further includes a lid coupled to the housing and the cyclonic separator is coupled to the lid such that the cyclonic separator is removable from the housing with the lid. A debris collection chamber is located within the housing and in fluid communication with the debris outlet of the cyclonic separator.
