THERMOGRAPHIC SENSOR WITH THERMAL TRANSISTORS DRIVEN BY THERMO-COUPLES
A thermographic sensor is proposed. The thermographic sensor includes one or more thermo-couples, each for providing a sensing voltage depending on a difference between a temperature of a hot joint and a temperature of a cold joint of the thermo-couple; the thermographic sensor further comprises one or more sensing transistors, each driven according to the sensing voltages of one or more corresponding thermo-couples for providing a sensing electrical signal depending on its temperature and on the corresponding sensing voltages. A thermographic device including the thermographic sensor and a corresponding signal processing circuit, and a system including one or more thermographic devices are also proposed.
In-ear health monitoring
This document describes techniques for, and systems that enable, in-ear health monitoring. The techniques described herein enable early detection of health conditions (e.g., contagious disease) through use of an in-ear health-monitoring and audio device. These techniques prompt a user, often through the user's smart phone, to listen to audio content through the device, which also takes the user's temperature. Through repetitive use, the techniques are capable of determining a temperature differential for the user, which aids in early detection of a contagious disease or other malady.
PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A DEVICE FOR DETECTING ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION, COMPRISING A GETTER MATERIAL
A process for manufacturing a detection device having at least one thermal detector covered by a mineral sacrificial layer, at least one getter portion covered by a carbon-based sacrificial layer, and a thin encapsulation layer surrounding the thermal detector and the getter portion includes a making a through-opening extending through the mineral sacrificial layer and opening on the substrate. The carbon-based sacrificial layer is deposited so as to cover the getter portion located in the through-opening and to entirely fill the through-opening.
Sensor device, method for operating a sensor device and electronic assembly comprising a sensor device
A sensor device, a method for operating a sensor device and an electronic assembly comprising a sensor device are disclosed. In an embodiment a sensor device includes a first sensor unit and a second sensor unit in a common housing, wherein each of the first and second sensor units comprises a heater element and a temperature sensor element, wherein the housing comprises a cover element having an opening, the cover element covering the first sensor unit, and wherein the opening is arranged over the second sensor unit.
Infrared sensor array with alternating filters
Improved techniques for thermal imaging and gas detection are provided. In one example, a system includes a first set of filters configured to pass first filtered infrared radiation comprising a first range of thermal wavelengths associated with a background portion of a scene. The system also includes a second set of filters configured to pass second filtered infrared radiation comprising a second range of thermal wavelengths associated with a gas present in the scene. The first and second ranges are independent of each other. The system also includes a sensor array comprising adjacent infrared sensors configured to separately receive the first and second filtered infrared radiation to capture first and second thermal images respectively corresponding to the background portion and the gas. Additional systems and methods are also provided.
System for tuning parameters of a thermal sensor based on a region of interest
Techniques associated with generating or tuning parameters associated with long wave infrared sensor data to improve object detection associated with the captured images are discussed herein. The system may determine a region of interest associated with the sensor data and adjust or tune the parameters to improve detection(s) within the region of interest. Additionally, the system may adjust the parameters based on map data and/or environmental conditions, such as weather and temperature.

WARM FILTER CONFIGURATION FOR REDUCING EFFECTS OF REFLECTED INFRARED RADIATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Various techniques are disclosed to reduce the effect of reflected infrared radiation on cooled thermal imaging systems. In one example, a system includes an integrated dewar cooler assembly (IDCA) configured to maintain an interior volume at a constant temperature. The system also includes a thermal imager disposed within the interior volume and configured to capture thermal images. The system also includes an optical element external to the IDCA and configured to provide reflected infrared radiation in a uniform distribution over a field of view of the thermal imager in response to emitted infrared radiation from the thermal imager. Additional methods, devices, and systems are also provided.
Apparatus and methods for remote measurement of sea surface temperature
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for highly accurate remote measurement of sea surface skin temperature. Thermal band 8 to 14 micron images of the surface of the ocean taken by a downward looking infrared camera are processed to determine the optimum segments of the image to utilize. The influence of contaminating reflection of the downwelling flux from the sky and other error sources are removed and from the data and/or otherwise corrected for making sea surface temperature accuracy within several tenths of a degree possible.
