THERMAL PROCESSING APPARATUS
A thermal processing apparatus according to the present invention includes: a support including quartz and being for supporting a substrate from a first side within a chamber; a flash lamp disposed on a second side and being for heating the substrate by irradiating the substrate with a flash of light; a continuous illumination lamp disposed on the second side of the substrate and being for continuously heating the substrate; a light blocking member disposed to surround the substrate in plan view; and a radiation thermometer disposed on the first side of the substrate and being for measuring a temperature of the substrate, wherein the radiation thermometer measures the temperature of the substrate by receiving light at a wavelength capable of being transmitted through the support. Accuracy of measurement of the temperature of the substrate can thereby be increased.
BODY TEMPERATURE DETECTION SAFETY KIOSK
A portable or semi-portable kiosk configured as a human body temperature scanning device, connected to a network that is also linked to a health history database and configured to allow or deny access to a building to a user.
Coaxial fiber optical pyrometer with laser sample heater
An optical pyrometer having a coaxial light guide delivers laser radiation through optics to heat a localized area on a sample, and simultaneously collects optical radiation from the sample to perform temperature measurement of the heated area. Inner and outer light guides can comprise the core and inner cladding, respectively, of a double-clad fiber (DCF), or can be formed using a combination of optical fibers in one or more coaxial bundles. Coaxial construction and shared optics facilitate alignment of the centers of the heated and observed areas on the sample. The heated area can be on the order of micrometers when using a single-mode optical fiber core as the inner light guide. The system can be configured to heat small samples within a vacuum system of charged-particle beam microscopes such as electron microscopes. A method for using the invention in a microscope is also provided.
A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION
The invention relates to a device and method for imaging electromagnetic radiation from an object. The device includes entrance optics for allowing the electromagnetic radiation to enter the device, including an image plane onto which an image of the object is to be imaged. The device includes an interferometer having a measurement arm, wherein the image plane is in the measurement arm. The device includes a transformation layer, at the image plane, for transforming the electromagnetic radiation into a spatiotemporal variation of the refractive index of the transformation layer for causing spatiotemporal optical phase differences in the measurement arm of the interferometer that are processed to result in a representative image of the object.
INFRARED THERMOMETER
The present invention relates to an infrared thermometer (1) able to project the detected temperature directly on the surface (6a) of the body (2) to be measured. The determination of the ideal distance of the thermometer from the body, necessary for the correct detection of the temperature thereof, being visually identifiable by means of the relative position of luminous shapes (8a, 8b) projected on the body to be measured (6).

Hose nozzle temperature indicator
An improved nozzle for use with a fire hose having an infra-red temperature sensor that is aligned with an output of the nozzle. The sensor will detect the infrared energy produced by a fire hot spot and provide a visual indication of the energy on a display. The temperature sensor operates a thermometer and is placed in the center of the discharge nozzle allowing water to pass around the sensor. A laser is positioned next to the sensor on the outlet of the nozzle to project a high intensity visible light toward the area that the IR sensor is directed.
