Thermal Diode Sensor Self-Correction

Temperature of a processor is monitored and managed by a control circuit. A thermal diode is positioned to indicate the temperature of the processor. A controller measures a voltage across the thermal diode and calculates a temperature of the thermal diode as a function of the voltage and a correction factor. The correction factor is a constant value that is determined based on 1) a negative correlation between the voltage and a reference temperature of the thermal diode, and 2) a positive correlation between a resistance of the thermal diode and the reference temperature. The controller causes the processor to alter an operation in response to the temperature being above a threshold.

A temperature detection circuit is provided with a temperature measuring circuit, a computing circuit, a temperature monitoring circuit, and a diagnostic signal generation circuit. The temperature measuring circuit outputs, to a measurement node, a temperature measurement voltage corresponding to a temperature. The computing circuit, calculates the temperature on the basis of the temperature measurement voltage. In the cases where the temperature measurement voltage is within a predetermined abnormal voltage range, the temperature monitoring circuit validates an abnormality detection signal indicating a temperature abnormality. When fault diagnosis of the temperature monitoring circuit is carried out, the diagnostic signal generation circuit supplies a diagnostic signal to the measurement node, and changes the temperature measurement voltage.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL METHOD FOR TERMINAL CONNECTION

A method for protecting an electrical grid against short circuits by controlling a temperature of terminal connections is disclosed, it can be used in industrial and consumer equipment to prevent fire hazardous situations. The technical result consists in the possibility of obtaining prompt and reliable information about a thermal state of terminal connections in an electrical circuit by avoiding an electrical connection between temperature sensors and a terminal connection. The metal device is used as a base for a temperature sensor. By using a triggering circuit, a voltage whose value depends on the temperature change is measured or compared or controlled with a predetermined voltage. If the temperature rises to a predetermined value or becomes higher than the predetermined value, the electrical circuit is opened or interrupted. After the temperature drops below the predetermined value, the electrical circuit is closed or restored.
