Aspects of the applicator wand include a heating and melting element enclosed within an external casing, a receiving compartment configured to receive one or more solid marking materials, and an applicator tip for applying the melted marking material onto a receiving medium to create a design, drawing, picture, sketch, and the like on the receiving medium.

A hand-held apparatus for repairing a defect in an outer jacket of an elongated wire or cable includes a portable die and a source of a settable material. The die has a first portion connected by a hinge to a second portion. They cooperatively define a channel in a closed configuration. The source is connected to the channel through an opening between the inlet and outlet. A heating element is adapted to heat the settable material into a flowable condition and a control circuit is adapted to vary the supply of heat. The die is juxtaposed around the jacket near the defect. As the settable material is introduced into the channel, the wire or cable is moved along the channel relative to the die in the closed configuration such that a coating is formed over the defect. When the die is removed, the settable material sets into a solid condition.

A heating applicator system that heats personal care products without concerns of dry-out as a result of repeated exposure to heat comprising a disposable container subassembly and a reusable handle subassembly. The container subassembly comprises a lower printed circuit board that has heating elements disposed thereon. The reusable handle subassembly houses an upper printed circuit board that has electronic control elements. When the handle subassembly is attached to the container subassembly, the two circuit boards form an electric connection and create an electric heating circuit. Subsequently, the handle subassembly is able to detach from the container while the applicator head remains attached to the handle subassembly. After each use, the applicator head is replaced in the container. When the product is used up, the applicator head and the container can be detached from the handle subassembly. The handle subassembly can be reused, while the container and applicator head are discarded.
