COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR STORING A BIOLOGICAL SAMPLE

Aqueous compositions are for storing a biological sample for subsequent nucleic acid testing. The compositions include a first component, which includes an anionic detergent in an amount from about 1% to 20% (w/v), a Group I metal hydroxide in an amount from about 1% to 5% (w/v), a chelating agent in an amount from about 0.5% to 5% (w/v), and a first buffer. The composition further includes a diluting component selected from water, a second buffer, a Transport Medium, Sodium Chloride (aq), and combinations. The first component can be diluted up to a maximum of about 50% (v/v) with the diluting component.

A disposable blood sampler for a blood braid of a blood bag includes a blood taking needle cannula, a threaded cannula, a blood braid clamp, a connecting pipe, a needle inserting sheet and a blood braid. The blood taking needle cannula includes a tubular threaded structure at both ends, a bottom port of the threaded cannula is connected with the blood taking needle cannula, and an upper port of the threaded cannula includes symmetrically distributed clamping slots extending to a middle lower part of the wall. Grips are arranged on the outer wall surface of the blood braid clamp, and the blood braid clamp is arranged in the threaded cannula. The grip is arranged outside the clamping slot, and the connecting pipe is directly inserted into the upper port. An inner cavity in which the needle inserting sheet is placed is arranged inside the inner part of the connecting pipe.

Biological sample material collection

A biological sample collection device 10 is disclosed including a shaped sample collecting tip 20a, said tip at least being formed from a fibrous material mixed with a liquid to form a pulp, said pulp being solidified to form the shape of the tip.

ASEPTIC TAMPER EVIDENT SAMPLING CONTAINER

A closed and tamper-evident sealed container, including a fluid transport adapter. The adapter provides for sterile fluid communication between a fluid source outside the container and the container interior when adapter is open. The adapter is adjustable to a closed position wherein the fluid communication ceases. An alternative to the adapter utilizes a sampling attachment that fits into tight engagement with the lid which comprises at least one septum. Coupling the sampling attachment to the lid either causes sharps in the attachment to penetrate the at least one septum or to displace the edges of the septum inward to form a fluid communication with the container interior while the lid remains sealed closed. Other variations include a rotatable sampling attachment, a container with a displaceable bottom wall to act as a syringe and a large volume (e.g., 1500 mL) sealed ampoule which also uses a sampling attachment.

Devices to facilitate sampling with thin film solid phase microextraction
20180266928 · 2018-09-20 ·

The present invention describes several embodiments of a device that allows for the supporting, storage and deployment of large surface area thin film solid phase microextraction (TF-SPME) chemical samplers from within a sample fluid carrier. The utility of said supporting device originates from the process by which the extraction surface is stabilised within a sample carrying fluid for the extraction of chemical molecules from said sample carrying fluid. The device is also characterized by having a sealing cavity, and moving mechanism or cap that can switch the supported TF-SPME chemical sampler between an open, sampling position, or closed storage position.

Passive Micro-vessel and Sensor

An electrically passive device and method for in-situ acoustic emission, and/or releasing, sampling and/or measuring of a fluid or various material(s) is provided. The device may provide a robust timing mechanism to release, sample and/or perform measurements on a predefined schedule, and, in various embodiments, emits an acoustic signal sequence(s) that may be used for triangulation of the device position within, for example, a hydrocarbon reservoir or a living body.

Small volume sampling device

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a small volume sampling device having a deformable fluid reservoir and a stem. The sampling device includes a plurality of volumetric fluid loading indicia increasing from the closed end of the deformable fluid reservoir to the open end of the deformable fluid reservoir adjacent the stem. The sampling device has an improved hold-up volume when sampling small volumes of fluid.

SAMPLE COLLECTION DEVICE AND SAMPLE COLLECTION METHOD

The present invention relates to a sample collection device, comprising: (a) a first tube accommodating a sample; wherein the first tube comprises an opened end part; (b) a second tube accommodating a sample transport medium; wherein the second tube comprises an opened end part; and (c) an adapter; wherein the adapter comprises a first accommodating part formed such that the opened end part of the first tube is inserted, a second accommodating part formed to be coupled to the opened end part of the second tube and a sealing part that comprises a first surface facing the first accommodating part and a second surface facing the second accommodating part, and partitions the first accommodating part and the second accommodating part, and wherein a breaking line is formed on the sealing part such that the sealing part is broken by a contact pressure.
