Dishwasher

The present disclosure relates to a dishwasher for washing the dishes and the cooking utensils by spraying washing water and steam. The dishwasher according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a tub which accommodates a washing object, a sump which is disposed in a bottom of the tub and stores washing water, a spray arm which sprays the washing water into the tub, a washing pump which sends the washing water stored in the sump to the spray arm, and a check valve which is disposed between the sump and the washing pump and opened in a direction of the washing pump from the sump.

Method for operating a pump

A pump of a dishwasher has an integrated heating element, a pump chamber with an inlet and an outlet, a pump rotor inside the pump chamber and a drive motor, wherein the heating element and a temperature sensor are provided on a wall of the pump chamber. For measuring a calcification of the pump chamber it is filled with water and then the pump rotor rotates for mixing the water in the pump chamber without transporting water out of the pump chamber. The temperature of the water in the pump chamber is measured with the temperature sensor as a starting temperature, and then the heating element is activated to heat the water in the pump chamber while the temperature of the water in the pump chamber is measured. Then the heating element is deactivated and the maximum temperature of the water during the heating duration or directly afterwards is determined. A temperature relation between the maximum temperature and the starting temperature of the water is calculated. These steps are executed in the pump at the very beginning of an operation of the new dishwasher after its installation for determining an initial temperature relation. These steps are automatically executed again at a later stage for determining a later temperature relation to determine the heating efficiency of the pump by comparing the later temperature relation to the initial temperature relation.

Domestic dishwasher

A household dishwasher includes a washing container receiving a dishwasher load, a pump pot, and a spray arm for applying washing liquor and/or fresh water to the dishwasher load in the washing container. The spray arm is actively driven by a drive system and mounted on the pump pot for rotation about an axis of rotation. The spray arm has a rib geometry that revolves around the axis of rotation and includes an encoding groove running along the axis of rotation. The pump pot includes an encoding rib running along the axis of rotation and corresponding to the encoding groove. The encoding rib is configured for passage through the encoding groove along the axis of rotation during assembly and disassembly of the spray arm so as to enable the spray arm to be assembled on and disassembled from the pump pot in precisely one angular position.

An impeller pump for a dishwasher has a pump housing comprising a pump upper portion, pump lower portion and pump outer wall in which a pump chamber is arranged. It has a pump inlet into the pump housing and a pump outlet out of the pump housing and a heating device, which forms the pump outer wall, and a pump drive having a drive rotor, a drive stator having a stator winding and a bearing shaft. The bearing shaft is fixedly arranged on the pump housing and the drive rotor is fixedly connected to the drive rotor and they are rotatably arranged on the bearing shaft. The stator winding is arranged on a region of the pump lower portion which adjoins the pump chamber at the other side thereof in an outward radial direction so that between the pump chamber and stator winding only one wall of the pump lower portion extends so that the stator winding is surrounded by the pump chamber in an annular manner. It can thus be effectively cooled by water in the pump chamber.
