Column attaching method and heating device
11231400 · 2022-01-25 · ·

When a column is attached to an attachment location, first, a ferrule through which the column is inserted is heated and thus is fixed to the column. Then, the column to which the ferrule is fixed is attached to the attachment location. As described, when a user performs work of attaching the column to the attachment location, the ferrule is always fixed to a certain spot of the column. Therefore, it is possible to omit work of holding the ferrule such that the position of the ferrule with respect to the column does not shift when the work of attaching the column is performed. As a result, the column can be easily attached to the attachment location.

GC interface assembly

A GC interface assembly for a heated transfer line of a gas chromatography interface probe, the heated transfer line comprising an inner tube and an outer tube, the GC interface assembly comprising: a GC fitting securable to said inner tube, the GC fitting comprising a first section comprising a substantially cylindrical projection for fluid connection to a GC source in use, and a second section having a larger radius than the first section in at least one direction, the second section being provided with at least one flat; and a GC end cap securable to an outer tube, the GC end cap comprising an aperture which slidably receives the second section of the GC fitting in use such that the GC fitting is substantially constrained to liner movement with respect to the GC end cap.

Provide is a novel microcolumn that contains a packing material and can be connected to a capillary tube. A connection structure includes a connector or a microcolumn and a plurality (e.g., two) of capillary tubes. The connecting structure is configured such that the microcolumn (or connector) and the capillary tube are in fluid communication. In one embodiment, the connection structure can be configured to be liquid-tight (to prevent liquid from flowing out from the interior of the structure to the exterior).

SYSTEM FOR ELECTROSPRAY IONIZATION WITH INTEGRATED LC COLUMN AND ELECTROSPRAY EMITTER

An integrated system for liquid separation and electrospray ionization includes an emitter-enabled capillary column including an emitter portion and a column portion; and a retractable protective sleeve for covering and/or supporting the emitter portion along at least a portion of its axis. The protective sleeve is mounted around the emitter-enabled capillary column. The retractable protective sleeve is moveable to an extended position wherein a tip of the emitter portion is covered by the protective sleeve. A resilient member is provided to bias the protective sleeve towards the extended position. The protective sleeve is enclosed and moveable within an outer electrically conductive sheath adapted for insertion within a holder having a high-voltage contact point. The sheath is adapted to contact the high-voltage contact point and provide an electrical connection to enable the emitter-enabled capillary column to receive a high voltage. The sheath has a recess to receive the high-voltage contact point.

Chromatographic filter

The invention provides filters and methods of assembling filters. In an exemplary embodiment, the filter includes a porous element, a compression element, and a housing. The compression element can be configured to receive the porous element, thereby forming an assembly. For example, the compression element can receive the porous element in a slip-fit relationship. The housing can have an opening formed therein that is configured to receive the assembly. In some embodiments, the assembly can be retained within the opening when the assembly is received therein. For example, the opening can receive the assembly in a press-fit relationship.

Chromatography cartridge seal arrangement
11378557 · 2022-07-05 · ·

The present invention relates chromatography cartridge comprising a barrel to be sealed with a cap utilizing a seal member such as an O-ring. The barrel comprises barrel lip on the circular top surface of the barrel. The cap comprises a seal holder and a space to accommodate the seal member. Then the cap is mounted on the barrel an interior contact surface of the cap will contact the barrel lip and force the barrel lip to shear inwards. The barrel lip and the contact surface will form a first cartridge seal. The barrel lip will in turn contact the seal member which will contact a seal surface of the cap and the seal holder to form a second cartridge seal.
