A chromatography system has a cartridge adapter that is detachably attachable to enable a chromatography cartridge to be quickly interchanged. Chromatography cartridges are configured with threads for coupling to a corresponding interchangeable coupling component having matching threads. The interchangeable coupling component may be secured to the chromatography system by a coupling retainer. A coupling retainer may have a keyway that is configured for quick interchanging of the interchangeable coupling components. The interchangeable coupling component may have a pair of parallel sides that align with a slot of the keyway to secure the interchangeable coupling components to the coupling retainer. An inlet nipple of the chromatography cartridge may extend through an opening in the coupling components and couple to an inlet conduit for sample gas. Analyte gas may flow back to the chromatography system for detection and collection.

A support fixture for chromatography columns operated by a liquid handling robot includes a frame and a lid. The frame has a base and a column stand extending upward from the base. The frame also includes bores extending vertically between the base and an upper portion of the column stand. The lid is movably attached to the upper portion of the column stand and has openings that axially align with the bores in the frame. The lid is movable between an open position configured to allow insertion of chromatography columns into the bores and a closed position configured to secure the chromatography columns in the bores.

DYNAMICALLY ADJUSTING SET POINTS FOR A HEATING/COOLING ELEMENT OF A CHROMATOGRAPHY COLUMN USING AVAILABLE INFORMATION
20210318273 · 2021-10-14 ·

The exemplary embodiments may determine a temperature set point for an outlet heater or cooler based on available information without requiring user input or requiring only minimal user input. The exemplary embodiments may estimate the temperature set point of the outlet heater based on available information, such as pressure delta along the column, temperature at the inlet of the chromatography column, and volumetric flow rate. In some instances, the estimate may be normalized for column dimensions, such as length and diameter. Tailing factor may also be used in determining the estimate. The estimate is not computationally burdensome and can be recalculated as the chromatography column is in use.

Flow passage unit

A flow passage unit has a column for used in a liquid chromatograph and a support body that supports the column. The column has: a porous stationary phase; a porous pressure adjusting part disposed at least at the flow-in end of the stationary phase, a liquid entering the flow-in end, the pressure adjusting part being harder than the stationary phase; and a covering part that covers the stationary phase and pressure adjusting part. The support body has a first plate and a second plate that are mutually joined, the support body forming a column holding part and a liquid flow passage, the column holding part holding the column between the first plate and the second plate, the liquid flow passage communicating with the column holding part. Pressure applied from the first plate and second plate to the pressure adjusting part is higher than pressure applied to the stationary phase.

FLUID SUPPLY DEVICE FOR FLUID CHROMATOGRAPH
20210270784 · 2021-09-02 · ·

A fluid supply device for a fluid chromatograph includes a storage container, a pump device, a filter, a guide and a heat dissipation device. The pump device supplies a mobile phase to a column. The storage container stores the pump device and the filter and has an intake port. The guide guides gas that has been introduced into the storage container through the intake port to the filter. A heat dissipation device dissipates heat generated from the pump device to the outside of the storage container together with the gas inside of the storage container. The storage container includes a door having a front surface directed forwardly of the fluid supply device. The intake port is provided at the door to be directed sidewardly of the fluid supply device.

A vise for column, for attaching a plug to a column tube of a column for chromatography comprising the column tube and the plug to be attached to one end of the column tube, is provided. The vise comprises a column supporter configured to be able to support a part of the column for chromatography, a main body configured to be connected to the column supporter and extending from the column supporter by a predetermined distance, and a column presser configured to be supported at another end of the main body opposite to one end to which the column supporter is connected, and configured to be movable toward and away from the column supporter, and configured to be able to press the plug against the column tube.

Column having a compression-limited assembly

A chromatography column has a column assembly that further includes a column jacket tube and a column liner tube. The column assembly is configured with end fittings that have compression limiting features and are able to withstand very high pressure, such as used in UHPLC, in conjunction with flange portions of the column liner tube that seal the column assembly. The column liner tube may be biocompatible and may have a smooth consistent inner diameter of less than 2 mm, and an inner diameter of 1 mm in particular embodiments. The end fittings for the microtube assembly may ensure durability and reliability by preventing over- or under-tightening.
