UNIVERSAL ELECTRONIC BUNG SYSTEM

A method and system for monitoring wine in a barrel having a bung hole is provided. The system comprises a sensor enclosure, a sensor conduit, and an original bung. The sensor conduit is operably coupled to the sensor enclosure. The original bung comprises a passage hole for inserting the sensor conduit through the original bung. The original bung also comprises a space for inserting at least a portion of the sensor enclosure. This space does not extend through the original bung. The outer diameter of the original bung is determined by the diameter of the bung hole of the barrel.

MONITORING SYSTEM FOR WINEMAKING

Aspects of a monitoring method and system for winemaking are provided. The system comprises at least two sensors, a controller, a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. One sensor measures a wine parameter, while the other sensor measures an ambient condition. The controller is able to generate an alarm based on the wine parameter and the ambient condition. The wireless transmitter is able to communicate the wine parameter and the ambient condition to a remote database. The wireless receiver is able to receive a modification to the firmware.

A system and method are provided to monitor, store and communicate data on parameters of a consumable product stored in a sealed container. In one embodiment, the system includes a flexible wrap affixed to an outer surface of a neck of the container. The wrap includes a first laser-detector pair to pass laser light through a headspace inside the container to reflect from a first reflector affixed to the outer surface of the container to non-invasively sense first parameters of the consumable product. The system further includes a flexible label affixed directly to the outer surface of a body of the container, the label including a second laser-detector pair to pass laser light through a liquid inside the container to non-invasively sense second parameters of the consumable product. The system generally further includes an interrogator to communicate with the flexible wrap and flexible label to access the data.

Bulk Liquid Tagging, Identifying and Authentication

The disclosure is directed to systems, compositions and methods for tagging, identifying and authenticating bulk liquids. Specifically, the disclosure relates to methods, compositions and systems for selectively and specifically identifying bulk liquids as authentic using, as a tagging compound, photoluminescent carbon nanostructures (PCN's) suspended in a continuous phase that is thermodynamically incompatible with non-polar bulk liquid and/or substantially low concentration of PCNs; and incorporating the suspension into the liquid, wherein the suspension is incorporated at a concentration of continuous phase that is at least one of being below the solubility limit of the suspension's continuous phase in the bulk liquid and a concentration that cannot be observed unaided to the naked eye.

Apparatus, methods, and systems for in-line detection of chemical compounds in beer are provided. In these apparatus, methods, and systems, a small sample of wort is removed from a fermentation vessel, heated, analyzed by infrared attenuated total reflectance (IR-ATR) spectroscopy, and returned to the fermentation vessel. The concentrations of one or more chemical compounds in the wort can be ascertained directly from IR-ATR spectroscopy data, or indirectly from applying an algorithm to the IR-ATR spectroscopy data based on known reaction kinetics and stoichiometry. The apparatus, methods, and systems do not destroy the wort sample or contaminate the fermenting wort and so can be employed continuously during fermentation, and are rapid, accurate, and inexpensive.

DISTINGUISHING FLUIDS BASED UPON DETERMINATION AND ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL IMAGE COLOR SPACE CHARACTERISTICS

A first series of images of a first fluid is received. A first set of fluid characteristics of the first fluid is determined from the first series of images. A second series of images of a second fluid is received. A second set of fluid characteristics of the second fluid is determined from the second series of images. A match is determined to be found between the first set of fluid characteristics and the second set of fluid characteristics. The second fluid is identified based upon determining that the first set of fluid characteristics matches the second set of fluid characteristics.
