The method includes: obtaining a leukocyte measurement mode for a test sample, the method having a plurality of leukocyte measurement modes, each of which includes at least a reaction time, and different leukocyte measurement modes having different reaction times; determining a reaction time for the current sample to be tested; controlling the sample to be tested to react with the reagent, to prepare a test sample for detecting leukocytes; and controlling to detect the test sample for detecting leukocytes, to obtain detection data of leukocyte classification.

Provided is an automatic analysis device capable of replenishing consumables without loss of a specimen and without stopping analysis. The state of an automatic analysis device 100 includes a replenishment prohibition state in which replenishment of consumables (reaction vessel 8, specimen dispensing tip 10a and external reagent vessels 21a, 21b, 21c) is prohibited, and a replenishment permission state in which replenishment of consumables is permitted. In the replenishment prohibition state, a specimen dispensing mechanism 10 performs dispensing, and detection units 18a and 18b perform analysis. In the replenishment permission state, the specimen dispensing mechanism 10 does not perform dispensing, and the detection units 18a and 18b perform analysis. A device state control unit 119d causes the automatic analysis device 100 to transition to the replenishment permission state when the remaining amount or the remaining number of the consumables predicted by a consumables remaining amount prediction unit 119b becomes equal to or less than a predetermined value.

Provided are an automatic analyzer and a maintenance method for an automatic analyzer that can reduce an operation of a user relating to maintenance in a plurality of maintenance operation processes. The analysis unit 111 is provided with a sensor that monitors states of the components, and when the sensor detects that an operator executed a specific operation on the components, the overall control unit 134 requests confirmation as to whether execution status of a maintenance operation needs to be updated.

Provided is an automatic analysis device characterized by being provided with containers for containing samples, one rack for placing the containers thereon, and a control unit, the control unit generating, with respect to the one rack, a plurality of registration patterns in which information of the positions where the containers are disposed, and information of the samples contained in the containers are correlated with each other, storing the registration patterns thus generated, applying, to the one rack, one registration pattern selected from among the registration patterns thus stored, and analyzing the samples. Also provided is an analysis method using the device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SAMPLE PREPARATION USING SONICATION
Devices, systems and methods including a sonicator for sample preparation are provided. A sonicator may be used to mix, resuspend, aerosolize, disperse, disintegrate, or de-gas a solution. A sonicator may be used to disrupt a cell, such as a pathogen cell in a sample. Sample preparation may include exposing pathogen-identifying material by sonication to detect, identify, or measure pathogens. A sonicator may transfer ultrasonic energy to the sample solution by contacting its tip to an exterior wall of a vessel containing the sample. Multipurpose devices including a sonicator also include further components for additional actions and assays. Devices, and systems comprising such devices, may communicate with a laboratory or other devices in a system for sample assay and analysis. Methods utilizing such devices and systems are provided. The improved sample preparation devices, systems and methods are useful for analyzing samples, e.g. for diagnosing patients suffering from infection by pathogens.
