Automated analyzer

An automated analyzer is provided with one or more dispensing lines 109, 209 that are each for loading and unloading, at one end thereof, a sample rack 101 having placed therein one or more sample containers accommodating a sample for analysis and for conveying the sample rack back and forth from a dispensing position for dispensing the sample from the sample containers and sample rack removal parts 111, 211 that are provided adjacent to the other ends of the dispensing lines 109, 209 and provide and receive sample racks to and from the dispensing lines 109, 209. According to this configuration, it is possible to convey an urgent sample while suppressing device complexity, preventing cost from increasing, and also maintaining speed.

DETECTION APPARATUS AND DAMPER STRUCTURE

Included are: a main body including an installation part in which a cartridge housing a liquid for treating a test substance contained in a specimen is installed and a detector configured to detect the test substance treated with the liquid within the cartridge installed in the installation part; a lid part arranged rotatably on the main body about a shaft so as to open and close the installation part; a biasing part biasing the lid part in an opening direction; and a plurality of regulators each generating resistance against a biasing force in the opening direction at different timing during an opening motion of the lid part.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO MITIGATE BUBBLE FORMATION IN A LIQUID

Methods and apparatus to mitigate bubble formation in a liquid are disclosed. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a bottom wall, a first baffle cantilevered from the bottom wall, and a second baffle cantilevered from the bottom wall. The first baffle is spaced apart from the second baffle, and the first baffle and the second baffle are positioned radially relative to an axis of rotation of the apparatus.

CUSTOMIZABLE INSTRUMENT

Methods and apparatus that mix a plurality of individual capture reagents for diagnostic assays are described herein. In an embodiment, a system for optically analyzing a patient sample includes an automated immunochemistry analyzer storing a plurality of capture reagents and a plurality of paramagnetic particles, a user interface configured to allow a selection of a combination of two or more of the capture reagents, and a logic implementer configured to cause the automated immunochemistry analyzer to (i) mix together each capture reagent of the combination of two or more of the capture reagents; (ii) bind the mixture of the combination of two or more of the capture reagents to the paramagnetic particles; (iii) bind the patient sample to the bound mixture of the combination of two or more of the capture reagents; and (iv) optically analyze the patient sample.

A digital slide scanning apparatus slide rack carousel allows continuous loading and unloading of slide racks into the carousel while the digital slide scanning apparatus is simultaneously digitizing glass slides. The slide rack carousel includes a base having an interior portion of its upper surface at an angle. The slide rack carousel also includes plural rack spacers extending upward from the base and adjacent rack spacers define a rack slot. Each rack spacer also includes a rack stopper on each side such that adjacent rack spacers have rack stoppers facing each other. The rack stoppers prevent a slide rack from moving further toward the center of the carousel than desired.

Sample handling device

A sample handling device for a laboratory automation system comprising a first carousel with a disc supported on a first axis, a second carousel with a disc supported on a second axis parallel to the first axis, and a transfer element between the first and second carousels is presented. Each disc has recesses distributed radially about the disc perimeter. Each recess receives a tube carrier. The first carousel and the second carousel connect via a passage for transferring sample tube carriers between the first and second carousels. The transfer element is a track switch which when in a rest position partly closes the passage to separate the first carousel from the second carousel. The track switch is swiveled and/or rotated about a third axis parallel to the first axis out of the rest position for transferring a tube carrier from the first carousel to the second carousel via the passage.

This automated analyzer comprises: a sample disk for mounting sample containers accommodating samples; a sample disk control unit for controlling the rotation of the sample disk; a sample dispensing probe for sucking the sample out of a sample container that has arrived at a prescribed suction position as a result of the rotation of the sample disk; a photometer for carrying out automatic biochemical analysis; a blood coagulation time detection unit for carrying out blood coagulation time analysis; a light-blocking cover that covers the photometer and blood coagulation time detection unit; and a sample information output unit for outputting sample information. The sample information output unit acquires analysis information indicating the analysis state of the mounted samples and position information indicating the positions of the samples as sample disk monitor information 401 and displays the analysis information, the position information, and an image 402 showing the light-blocking cover on the imaging unit so as to overlap.
