A dishwasher comprises a basket (10) for accommodating articles to be cleaned, said basket comprising a basket floor and a plurality of holding spikes (30) projecting upwardly from the basket floor, and a rotatable spray arm (12) located below the basket, the spray arm comprising a plurality of spray nozzles (20) oriented to direct water jets towards the basket. In accordance with the present invention the basket (10) comprises at least one fixed holding spike (30) or a fixture (90) for a removable holding spike (92) the placement of which coincides with the path of movement of one of the spray nozzles (20), said fixed holding spike or fixture for a removable holding spike comprising means (36) to optically differentiate the holding spike from the remaining holding spikes.

A rack for a domestic dishwasher includes a frame and a base. The base can be swung and folded out in order to increase a loading volume of the rack. The base includes a first portion articulated to a first side of the frame via a first articulation, and a second portion articulated to a second side of the frame opposite the first site via a second articulation, and articulated to the first portion via a third articulation. The second portion is configured to change its length between the second and third articulations.

Bottle washer assemblies for dishwasher appliances are provided. A bottle washer assembly includes a main conduit defining a main passage for flowing wash fluid therethrough. The bottle washer assembly further includes a spray tine, the spray tine including a conduit defining a passage for flowing wash fluid therethrough. The passage is in selective fluid communication with the main passage. The conduit is movable between a first position wherein wash fluid flow into the passage is permitted and a second position wherein wash fluid flow into the passage is restricted relative to the wash fluid flow in the first position.

A rack assembly for a dishwasher appliance is provided. The rack assembly includes one or more modular baskets placed in a primary rack. These baskets are easily removable and portable for loading and prewashing if desired. In addition, each of the modular baskets may have at least one sidewall that is collapsible. The collapsible sidewalls may be collapsed and adjacent baskets may be linked together using clips as needed based on the size of the dishware to be washed. In this manner, the rack assembly and modular baskets provide a convenient, configurable rack system that enables simple and effective loading, unloading, and prewashing of dishware.

One embodiment provides a method for adapting a wash cycle of a dishwashing machine. The method comprises gathering sensor information from one or more sensors of the dishwashing machine. The sensor information gathered includes data identifying one or more adjustments to a rack layout of a dish rack of the dishwashing machine. The method further comprises determining a load configuration for the dish rack based on the sensor information gathered. The load configuration determined identifies one or more types of content loaded onto the dish rack. A wash cycle for washing the content loaded onto the dish rack is adapted based on the load configuration determined.

A tine assembly for a dishwasher appliance is provided. The tine assembly includes a plurality of segmented tines. Each segmented tine of the plurality of segmented tines includes a plurality of tine segments. Each tine segment of the plurality of tine segments is pivotally or rotatably mounted to a respective adjacent tine segment of the plurality of tine segments such that the segmented tines of the plurality of segmented tines are compliant. A related dishwasher appliance is also provided.

A beverage container washing system may utilize an auto-opening holder to laterally separate opposing grippers from one another when a housing is configured in a loading or unloading configuration to facilitate insertion and/or removal of a beverage container into or from the holder.

A dishwasher includes a storage part in which a washing target is stored. The storage part includes a base formed by crossing a plurality of horizontal bars and a plurality of vertical bars, a supporter portion coupled to the base and having a hollow formed therein, and a holder portion secured to the supporter portion and configured to be rotatable with respect to the supporter portion. The holder portion is configured to maintain a posture set with respect to the supporter portion by pressurizing the supporter portion.

The present invention provides a rack assembly that supports stemware in an inverted position and is configured to slidably mount inside of a dishwasher, thereby permitting the washing and drying of the stemware. The rack assembly is comprised of a box shaped wireframe that has plurality of supporting bars on top side of the wireframe. The supporting bar is interrupted at predetermined position to form multiple loops. The loops are configured to receive the stem of the stemware from open side and support the stemware in inverted position wherein the base of stemware rest on the loop. The rack assembly further includes a clip member that is positioned adjacent to the loop and hinged to the supporting bar. The clip member is configured to pivot and press against the base of the stemware, thereby preventing the stemware from shaking or moving during washing.
