TEMPERATURE VARIATION FOR SENSOR ARRAY BASED DETECTION TECHNOLOGY
A method for identification of a vapor sample or chemicals in a vapor sample includes introducing a vapor sample to a sensor array including a plurality of sensors, adjusting a temperature of one or more of the plurality of sensors between at least two temperature levels, and identifying the vapor sample or one or more chemicals in the vapor sample based on a plurality of response patterns of the sensor array, each of the response patterns being a collection of responses of the plurality of sensors to the vapor sample with the one or more sensors being at a different temperature level from among the at least two temperature levels.
Detection System
Each of detection instruments (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d . . . ) of which the number is enabled to be increased or decreased includes at least one sensitive membrane sensitive to a substance, generates first data representing the result of detection of the substance corresponding to the sensitive membrane, and includes second data in which the result of the detection of the substance corresponding to the sensitive membrane is associated with the membrane information of the sensitive membrane. An information terminal (2) collects the first data and the second data from each of the detection instruments (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d . . . ), and compares the first data and the second data, to specify an object to be detected.
Photoacoustic Sensors and Associated Production Methods
A photoacoustic sensor includes a first layer with an optical MEMS emitter; a second layer stacked over the first layer with a MEMS pressure pick-up and an optically transparent window, wherein the MEMS pressure pick-up and the optically transparent window are offset laterally with respect to one another; and a third layer stacked over the second layer with a cavity for a reference gas. The optical MEMS emitter transmits optical radiation along an optical path, wherein the optical path runs through the optically transparent window and the cavity for the reference gas, and wherein the MEMS pressure pick-up is outside the course of the optical path.
RESPIRATORY ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
A respiratory assistance apparatus has a gases inlet configured to receive a supply of gases, a blower unit configured to generate a pressurised gases stream from the supply of gases; a humidification unit configured to heat and humidify the pressurised gases stream; and a gases outlet for the heated and humidified gases stream. A flow path for the gases stream extends through the respiratory device from the gases inlet through the blower unit and humidification unit to the gases outlet. A sensor assembly is provided in the flow path before the humidification unit. The sensor assembly has an ultrasound gas composition sensor system for sensing one or more gas concentrations within the gases stream.
Odor detection system, odor identification device, and odor identification method
Embodiments provide an odor identification system including an operation array unit including at least two or more sensors which interact with odor causative substances included in an odor factor of a gas sample, a sensor data processing unit processing data obtained by interaction with the odor factor in the operation array unit, an odor factor information storing unit storing information of the odor factor and the interaction pattern information of the odor factor in advance, and a pattern identification unit identifying the odor factor on the basis of an interaction pattern while referring to the pattern processed by the sensor data processing unit and the information of the odor factor information storing unit, and collating the interaction pattern with the known odor information, wherein the odor of the object to be measured is contained.
Particulate matter sensor
Microfabricated PM sensors measure concentrations of particulate matter (PM) in air. Some sensors improve the accuracy of measurements by accounting for the effect of ambient conditions (e.g., temperature or humidity) on mass-sensitive elements employed to determine a mass of the PM in a stream of air. Some sensors improve the accuracy of measurements by controlling humidity in the stream of air measured by mass-sensitive elements. Some sensors employ a plurality of mass-sensitive elements to extend the useful life of the PM sensor. Some sensors employ one or more mass-sensitive elements and heating elements to cause deposition and allow measurement of different sizes of PM. Some sensors can measure mass concentration of coarse PM in addition to fine PM in a stream of air. Some sensors control the flow rate of a stream of air measured by mass-sensitive elements. Some sensors include features to mitigate electromagnetic interference or electromagnetic signal loss.
MOLECULAR SENSOR, MOLECULAR DETECTION DEVICE, AND MOLECULAR DETECTION METHOD
According to one embodiment, a molecular sensor contains a sensitive film in which a porous member and an ionic liquid coexist. The molecular sensor is capable of detecting a target molecule by measuring a change in physical quantity of the sensitive film due to adsorption of the target molecule to the sensitive film.
SUBSTANCE DETECTING ELEMENT
A through-hole (3) is disposed in a supporting substrate (2). Plate-shaped beams (4 (4A, 4B)) each includes a piezoelectric element, extends from an edge of the through-hole (3) toward an opposite edge to close a part of the through-hole (3), supports a substance adsorption film to which a constitutive substance to be detected adheres, and has a vibration frequency that is varied due to adhesion of the constitutive substance to the substance adsorption film. Drive electrodes (16) apply a voltage to the piezoelectric element to vibrate and deform the beams (4). Detection electrodes (17) detect information about the vibration frequencies of the beams (4).
