DISPOSABLE ENDOSCOPE AND SYSTEM

A disposable endoscope (200) and system, the disposable endoscope (200) comprising: a tubular component (201), a linear drive piece (202) controlling the tubular component (201) to bend, an image pickup unit (203) installed at the front end of the tubular component (201) and a wiring harness connected thereto, a cladding layer (204) wrapping around the integral structure, and a connector head (205) and a disposable fixing piece (206) both disposed at one end of the linear drive piece (202) away from the tubular component (201). A first connector (2021) is fixed at a connector head (205) at one end of the linear drive piece (202) and is detachably engaged with a corresponding second connector (301) of an external control base (300); the first connector (2021) is fixed by the disposable fixing piece (206) with respect to the connector head (205), and can be moved in a length direction within a through hole (2051) of the connector head (205) after the disposable fixing piece (206) is removed. The disposable endoscope system separates the control base (300) used to control a drive from the disposable endoscope (200) inserted into a cavity of a human body and used to capture images, realizing disposability of an endoscope, and thereby omitting existing complicated cleaning and sterilization processes.

MAGNETIC CONNECTOR FOR STEERABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
20220040450 · 2022-02-10 ·

In a robot-assisted steerable medical device, such as a catheter, a magnetic connector hub is configured to establish mechanical and magnetic connection between a drive cable and an actuator, or between multiple modules in a single insert-and-twist motion. The connector hub creates a magnetic breakaway feature for automatically decoupling the actuator from the drive cable, while the catheter remains attached. This prevents damage to the catheter/tool and/or patient when an excessive force is applied, and adds a safety element and helps protect the patient. And when the breakaway occurs the system can be automatically reengaged catheter without damage, so that normal operation can resume. Connection can also be broken at any point in the operation based on threshold forces or emergency situations.

REMOTELY POWERED ARTICULATED MEDICAL APPARATUS

One or more apparatus and systems for articulated movement, particularly for an articulated medical device such as an endoscope or medical robot. The apparatus comprises an articulated movement portion with tendon control, a transition portion comprising actuation rods, springs, and distal stoppers, a conduit portion comprising lumen filled with air or hydraulic fluid; a translation portion comprising a proximal stopper; and a power unit.

Endobronchial suctioning device and medical suctioning system for intubated patients

A medical suctioning system includes a device for insertion into an intubated patient's bronchi, the device including a controller end having actuating components that include a control mechanism coupled to a plurality of cables at the controller end, the controller end having a suction control button engaged with a plunger to allow for activation and deactivation of suction through the controller end; a control lever in communication with an articulating lever housed within the controller end, the articulating lever to engage with one or more cables disposed through the controller end and to engage with an articulating tip portion at a distal end opposite the controller end; and a catheter extending away from the controller end to the distal end.

Upper gastrointestinal bleeding monitoring system

An upper gastrointestinal bleeding monitoring system includes a detection device and a signal processing device to determine bleeding condition of an upper gastrointestinal tract by using relation of time and intensity ratios of RGB three primary colors. The detecting device is placed to the upper gastrointestinal tract of a patient via his/her mouth or nasal passage and then stay the upper gastrointestinal tract for several days for detection of bleeding. The signal processing device may receive and display signal from the detection device to help medical professionals check if bleeding occurs in an upper gastrointestinal tract. Moreover, a procedure of determination of bleeding in an upper gastrointestinal tract with the upper gastrointestinal bleeding monitoring system is described.

Endoscope

An endoscope includes: operation wires insertedly arranged inside an insertion portion and an operation portion, the operation wires causing a bending portion to bend by being pulled/slackened; an operation member provided on the operation portion, the operation member performing a bending operation of the bending portion; a rotation member provided in the operation portion, the rotation member pulling/slackening the operation wires by rotating in conjunction with an operation of the operation member; and an amount-of-operation-force reducing portion giving rotation torque in a direction in which the rotation member inclines to reduce an amount of operation force of the operation member, in response to inclination of the operation member, wherein the rotation torque of the amount-of-operation-force reducing portion changes in conjunction with displacement of the operation member operated, and the amount-of-operation-force reducing portion offsets and reduces the amount of operation force required for the operation member.

Flexible digital ureteroscope

The present invention discloses a flexible digital ureteroscope that is at least partially disposable. The ureteroscope comprises a single-use catheter and a handle. The catheter comprises a distal end, a bend portion, and a proximal portion. The distal end has a rigid or semi-rigid shell that houses a set of micro lenses, an image sensor microchip, and a plurality of LED light sources. A working channel extends along the entire catheter and is coupled to a working channel port on the handle to receive various medical devices and irrigation lines during an endoscopic procedure. In addition, the catheter includes one or more steering wires to control the distal end to bend towards a desired direction. The rigid or semi-rigid shell of the distal end is made of a mix of polymer composite material with graphene nano-filler for enhancing thermal dissipation. The handle may be a single-use handle or a reusable handle. In case the handle is a reusable handle, it includes a battery module and a wireless communication module for communicating with a host machine wirelessly. In case the handle is a single-use handle, to reduce cost, the handle does not include a battery module and/or a wireless communication module. Rather, the single-use handle includes a host interface for receiving power from the host machine and transmits image data to the host machine.
