Modification of behavior or physical characteristics through visual stimulation
11484240 · 2022-11-01 ·

A system and a process are provided for evaluating subliminal pixel patterns and identifying trigger patterns, which are pixel patterns that trigger a response in subjects exposed to the pattern. Each pixel pattern is embedded in a digital video or a digital still image. Pixel patterns that are found to induce reactions in subjects are identified as trigger patterns and are flagged for re-testing. Re-tested trigger patterns that repeatably induce reactions are identified as positive trigger patterns and are studied further. Variations are made to a positive trigger pattern to determine whether small changes can affect how a subject responds when exposed to that positive trigger pattern. A positive trigger pattern is evaluated to determine whether it can induce an emotional, a physical, and/or a behavioral change in the subjects and, if so, the positive trigger pattern is applied to a real-world situation.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MEASURING VISUAL ACUITY BY USING FOCUS-TUNABLE LENS

Provided are an apparatus and method for measuring a visual acuity (VA) by using a focus-tunable lens. The apparatus includes a display engine, an image combiner, a focus-tunable lens provided on a path of the light guided by the image combiner, an input device, and a processor configured to control the focus-tunable lens to assign different first and second optical powers to first and second lens regions, respectively, on a lens surface of the focus-tunable lens, control the display engine to display a VA measuring image through first and second output regions of the image combiner, control the input device to receive a user's input with respect to the VA measuring image, specify one optical power of the first and second optical powers based on the user's input, and determine a VA of a user based on the specified optical power.

A system, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium for providing a visual examination are provided. A diagnostic module configured to execute on a first computing device communicatively coupled to a head mounted holographic display device worn by a user renders a virtual arrangement displayed within the head mounted holographic display device at an initial simulated distance away from the user. Within the virtual arrangement is an imbedded pattern. A second computing device receives, from leads attached to the user, brain waves of the user. The second computing device displays a visual evoked potential within the brain waves. The visual evoked potential comprises an indication that the user visually identified the imbedded pattern at a second simulated distance away from the user. The visual evoked potential occurs at a focal length of a refractive error of an eye of the user.

Systems and methods for testing and analysis of visual acuity and its changes

Disclosed herein are system and method for testing and analysis of visual acuity and changes using an acuity model, the acuity model generated based on one or more acuity chart design parameters and candidate acuity parameters calculated using the acuity test data of the subject, the acuity model comprising a chart-specific psychometric function determined using a family of multiple-optotype psychometric functions, and wherein the acuity model is configurable to estimate possibility of obtaining the acuity test data of the subject.

Disclosed embodiments may include a device, system and method for providing a low cost device that can measure refractive errors very accurately via attachment to a smart phone. A disclosed device may use ambient light or a light source in simulating the cross cylinder procedure that optometrists use by utilizing the inverse Shack-Hartman technique. Using an optical device, in conjunction with a smart phone, the user first changes the angle of the axis until he/she sees a cross pattern (the vertical and horizontal lines are equally spaced). The user adjusts the display, using motorized controls on the on the optical device, to make the lines come together and overlap, which corresponds to bringing the view into sharp focus, thus determining the appropriate optical prescription for the user.
