Power calculation apparatus and power calculation method
A power calculation apparatus calculating an amount of power suppliable to a power system by an energy source connectable, at a connection point, to the power system and capable of power generation and power storing, the power calculation apparatus includes: a microprocessor and a memory connected to the microprocessor, wherein the microprocessor is configured to perform: specifying a position of the connection point of the energy source in connection with the power system; acquiring a capacity information indicating a power generation capacity or a remaining storage capacity of the energy source; and calculating an amount of power suppliable by the energy source to the power system in an area within a predetermined range including the connection point, based on the capacity information and the position of the connection point.
Trailer Testing Device
The present disclosure relates generally to measuring and testing circuits of towed vehicles. Testing circuits of towed vehicles for proper function is required for safe use of the vehicle. Instruments that currently exist are expensive, the instruments are large in size, use outdated technology to perform the test and do not provide a means to reliably and effectively test braking systems.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONDUCTING VEHICLE OSCILLATOR TESTING
A testing system includes a testing device including a display screen. The testing device can display, via the display screen, a representation of a vehicle and oscillators of the vehicle. The testing device transmits a test request that identifies a selected oscillator of the plurality of oscillators for testing. A vehicle receives the test request. An electronic control unit of the vehicle instructs the selected oscillator to generate test signals. The testing calculates a performance metric of the test signals. The testing device determines whether the selected oscillator is properly placed, functioning at a predetermined threshold, or both. Improperly placed or improperly functioning oscillators can be adjusted or replaced.
Automated inspection of autonomous vehicle equipment
An equipment inspection system receives data captured by a sensor of an autonomous vehicle (AV). The captured data describes a current state of equipment for servicing the AV. The equipment inspection system compares the captured data to a model describing an expected state of the equipment. The equipment inspection system determines, based on the comparison, that the equipment differs from the expected state. The equipment inspection system may transmit data describing the current state of the equipment to an equipment manager. The equipment manager may schedule maintenance for the equipment based on the current state of the equipment.
METHOD OF ESTIMATING THE REMAINING DRIVING DISTANCE AVAILABLE FROM A CHARGE FOR A POWERED MOBILITY DEVICE
A method of estimating the remaining driving distance available from a current charge of a battery of an electrically powered mobility device, wherein the method comprises: a) determining a state of charge of the battery based on a measured battery-related parameter, b) determining a state of health of the battery based on the state of charge, and c) estimating the remaining driving distance that the mobility device can travel with the current charge based on the state of charge and the state of health, wherein step b) involves determining the state of health based on actual consumed ampere hours of the battery.
METHOD, COMPUTER PROGRAM, ELECTRONIC STORAGE MEDIUM AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING THE BREAKDOWN OF AN ENERGY RESERVE UNIT
A method for recognizing the breakdown of an energy reserve device of at least two energy reserve devices of a device for protecting the occupants of a vehicle. The method includes: charging the at least two energy reserve devices to a test voltage level; ascertaining an ambient temperature of the at least two energy reserve devices; acquiring the (overall) capacitance of the at least two energy reserve devices; recognizing the breakdown of an energy reserve device as a function of a floating mean value, which is a function of the ascertained ambient temperature, for the (overall) capacitance and of the acquired (overall) capacitance; updating a floating mean value as a function of the ascertained ambient temperature and the acquired overall capacitance.
System for detecting circuit anomalies in trailer wiring
A system for detecting anomalies in electrical wiring in a truck trailer. The system measures and compares current drawn from the truck tractor with the current drawn by a circuit at a particular trailer component or other location in the trailer wiring. If the two current measurements differ in excess of a predetermined threshold, the system can report a wiring anomaly. The location of the anomaly can then be determined by performing the operation for different trailer components thus testing multiple different branches of the trailer power distribution circuit, and using the results of these tests to determine that an anomaly is present, and possibly the location of the issue. The system may then send a notification to a remote computing device, to the truck tractor, or any combination thereof.
Smart interconnecting clamp system
A apparatus for monitoring the integrity of an electrical wire includes a clamp system, a sensor system, a user interface configured to receive input data and output wire information, and a control unit configured to process the wire data, process the input data, and generate the output wire information. The clamp system includes a clamp and the sensor system includes a sensor configured to retrieve the wire data. In another embodiment, a portable device is configured to obtain wire data from a smart clamping system, to transmit the wire data to a processor and to receive a multi-dimensional representation, and a computer system configured to receive the wire data generated and to generate the multi-dimensional representation of the wire. A method for monitoring a wire includes capturing wire data using a clamp, transmitting the wire data to a control unit, generating wire information to output, and outputting the wire information.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR EARLY INSULATION DAMAGE DETECTION FOR HIGH CURRENT CABLES
In at least one embodiment, a system including a battery cable and at least one vehicle controller is provided. The battery cable includes a detection shield positioned over an inner conductor. The at least one vehicle controller is programmed to: receive a first signal indicative of current or voltage of the detection shield of the battery cable and to compare the current or voltage to a predetermined value. The at least one vehicle controller is further programmed to generate an alert indicative of warning that the battery cable is exhibiting a failure prior to a short circuit condition occurring at the battery cable in the event the current or voltage is not equal to the predetermined value.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING ENGINE-START PERFORMANCE OF AN ELECTRICAL ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM
The invention relates to a method for predicting an engine-start performance of an electrical energy storage system, in particular a motor vehicle starter battery. The method comprises the following method steps: generating engine-start data which are characteristic of the electrical energy storage system; evaluating the generated engine-start data; and outputting a result of the evaluation, which result relates to a prediction with respect to the engine-start performance of the electrical energy storage system. According to the invention, provision is made in particular for a vehicle make, a vehicle model and/or a vehicle variant of a vehicle to be started by the electrical energy storage system to be taken into account in order to evaluate the generated engine-start data.
