Fundus imaging apparatus that determines a state of alignment
A fundus imaging apparatus includes a scanning optical system, a control circuit, and an image forming unit. The scanning optical system scans a fundus of a subject's eye with light from a light source, and receives return light from the fundus by a light receiver. The control circuit controls the scanning optical system such that a scanning locus is formed by the light in the fundus. The image forming unit forms an image of the fundus based on a light receiving signal from the light receiver and a position of the scanning locus. The control circuit is capable of performing an alignment mode, in which the control circuit controls the scanning optical system to project an alignment indicator for aligning the scanning optical system with the subject's eye on the fundus based on the light from the light source.
Ophthalmic Observation/Illumination Set for Adjusting Illumination Conditions and Working Distance
Provided is an ophthalmic observation/illumination set for adjusting illumination conditions and a working distance to the object of observation and illumination. set consists of a main optical lens and a couple of interchangeable illumination members that can be assembled in various combinations with the main optical lens so that a light emitted from one of the illumination members will intersect the optical element of the main optical lens or will pass to the object around the optical element of the main optical lens. The set also contains a common handle with batteries for supply of power to the illumination member connected to the main optical lens and an additional optical component such as a Barlow lens selected from a set of Barlow lenses of different curvatures or a fisheye lens.
WIDE ANGLE STEREOSCOPIC FUNDUSCOPY
An imaging system for wide angle viewing and 3D imaging of the eye fundus in real time comprising: (1) an objective lens system collecting illumination light beam or fluorescent light beam reflected or emitted from the eye fundus, (2) a beam splitting system accepting the light beam from the objective lens system and splitting the light beam into multiple light beams each of which is characterized by a different viewing angle of the fundus, (3) multiple imaging lens systems each of which accepting one of the multiple light beams, (4) multiple band pass filters each of which enabling the view of one of the multiple light beams received from the imaging lens systems, (5) multiple image capturing units each of which captures images transmitted via each one of the multiple light beams and (6) a computer for receiving and combining the images to a single 3D image.
Fundus Image Capturing
An apparatus for producing a fundus image includes: a processor and a memory; an illumination component including a light source and operatively coupled to the processor; a camera including a lens and operatively coupled to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the apparatus to capture fundus images and provide controls for re-imaging the fundus.
BORESCOPIC OPTICAL SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC INSTRUMENTS AND MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC INSTRUMENTS HAVING INTERLOCKING ASSEMBLY FEATURES
A medical diagnostic instrument or a plurality of disparate medical diagnostic instruments are configured with a common optical architecture that functionally creates a virtual eye to create closer proximity to a patient and therefore increase the field of view in regard to a target of interest. The optical system includes a distal optical element, at least one relay lens and an eyepiece lens in which the optical system can be integrated within at least one instrument or be provided using a releasable module. Additionally, at least one of a viewing assembly and illumination assembly of at least one medical diagnostic instrument can be assembled using a series of components that are connected by interlocking features.
System and method for a portable eye examination camera
A system and method for a portable eye examination camera is described herein. The system and method may include: a light source disposed within said portable camera at a set distance away from an eye of a patient; a first lens within said portable camera for focusing the light from said light source onto a retina of the eye and providing a wide field retinal image; a second lens for receiving said retinal image and causing a magnification of said retinal image; and a digital camera within a mobile computing device for recording said retinal image.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RAPID EXAMINATION OF VASCULATURE AND PARTICULATE FLOW USING LASER SPECKLE CONTRAST IMAGING
Examination of the structure and function of blood vessels is an important means of monitoring the health of a subject. Such examination can be important for disease diagnoses, monitoring specific physiologies over the short- or long-term, and scientific research. This disclosure describes technology and various embodiments of a system and method for imaging blood vessels and the intra-vessel blood flow, using at least laser speckle contrast imaging, with high speed so as to provide a rapid estimate of vessel-related or blood flow-related parameters.
Modular lens adapters for mobile anterior and posterior segment ophthalmoscopy
A modular lens adapter system or kit is provided for mobile anterior and posterior segment ophthalmoscopy. Equipped with various lens adapter modules, respective lenses and a mobile imaging device, a user is provided with tools for various mobile ophthalmoscopy imaging applications. Eye care practitioners can use their existing lenses to customize the modular lens adapter system in a cost-effective way, which allows for mobile and remote capture, viewing, and utilization of clinical images. The various modules are also adaptable to nearly any type of phone or tablet regardless of its dimensions or presence of a protective case. The invention also addresses the need for fewer, smaller, less expensive, and easier to use ophthalmic imaging equipment, which is further important in enabling a broad base of users.
Eye viewing device enabled for performing ear examinations and adapter
An eye viewing device includes an imaging assembly having at least two optical components disposed along an optical axis of the device. An adapter is attachable to the device and is aligned along the imaging axis of the device, the adapter having at least one adaptive optical element configured for projecting an image of the ear along the imaging axis for viewing without modification to the device and enabling separate examination modes.
